Not a fan of both Kathryn and Alden but I have to say HLG is really one of the best Pinoy romance films at par with the likes of One More Chance and Starting Over Again. Proof what a good story can do! Yes, Kathryn is a certified box office draw and Alden is popular but it’s the casuals that made this movie a mega hit! Hopefully managemnt will realize they don’t always need to use the same lts over and over again, they can experiment with different pairings as long as it’s a quality story!
It didn't give you the trite and fairytale ending. It wasn't even a straight up schmaltzy love story. The casting was a good blend of actors from rival networks. The leads previously untested. So where was the formula 812?

Yup trademark ni cgm yon nonstop background music, na maririndi ka na, tapos yon quality pa na pang serye lang. Wala ba silang budget sa composer na para gumawa ng magandang musical score, it's so outdated na kasi. Direk Jun Lana and Mikhail Red to name a few are better filmmakers than cgm. CGM is so Jurassic.
Meh, it’s the usual pinoy movie story. Boy meets girl...blah blah blah. They fall in love blah blah.....they separate for a while....they get back together....blah blah blah...all talk nothing much is happening. Foreign location, OFW, eat, text and talk some more. It’s the usual nonsense.

ReplyDeleteNot a fan of both Kathryn and Alden but I have to say HLG is really one of the best Pinoy romance films at par with the likes of One More Chance and Starting Over Again. Ibang klase chemistry ni Kath at Alden, walang walang ang AlDub at KathNiel. May something that I can’t explain sa knilang dalawa kasi kakaiba talaga dating nila together compared sa usual loveteams.
ReplyDeletedon't compare with usual loveteamsa because the usual love teams were established for milking not to be given the best effort that can be offered. Most especially that favorites can exist outside the network and paired with the most favorite within.

ReplyDeleteProof what a good story can do! Yes, Kathryn is a certified box office draw and Alden is popular but it’s the casuals that made this movie a mega hit! Hopefully managemnt will realize they don’t always need to use the same lts over and over again, they can experiment with different pairings as long as it’s a quality story!

DeleteIt didn't give you the trite and fairytale ending. It wasn't even a straight up schmaltzy love story. The casting was a good blend of actors from rival networks. The leads previously untested. So where was the formula 812?

DeleteYup trademark ni cgm yon nonstop background music, na maririndi ka na, tapos yon quality pa na pang serye lang. Wala ba silang budget sa composer na para gumawa ng magandang musical score, it's so outdated na kasi. Direk Jun Lana and Mikhail Red to name a few are better filmmakers than cgm. CGM is so Jurassic.
