  1. Because negative/faux/hate news sell like cupcakes these days. Gullible people buy it.

    1. Oh my. That Mookie is rude.

I checked her out. She's a "poet" pala. That's why she refers to Lang's work as "poetry".

    2. I actually dont agree with this Mookie when she kept on ranting and shading someone to uplift her “poetry”. If not because of these instapoets, I won’t be able to appreciate again the beauty of literature. They may claim that Lang’s work is an aphorism but I would agree with Lang when she said that her rise to success is based on her readers.

Mookie, you cannot shove to your readers whag you know. Learn to respect diversity and the people around you. Di sayo umiikot ang mundo, poet!

    3. what’s even more embarrassing eh nakisawsaw pa yung asawa at inaway away si lang!

  2. I read the article, grabe ang sarap sabunutan nung nag sulat. Judgmental at bastos. FYI, I'm not even a fan or reader of Lang Leav.

SFO girl.

    3. Sfo girl, there’s google. even in SFO. try it.

  3. "Perhaps focus less on giving backhanded compliments and more on being a professional journalist."

--How much more when Lang Leav hear and watch interviews by Boy Abunda on local artistas? Haha!

"These style over substance writers are the ones ruining literature."

--True that. When you read local newspapers and magazines, all I ever see are vacuous words and unnnecessary delusions of "wannabe elite writers" who can't even create substantial content for their columns.

It's all about "dropping names, designer labels, quotes derived from the internet and whatnots." SAD BUT TRUE.

    1. haha binasa ko nga yung article. di ko magets anong point ni writer. parang gusto nya lang i-showcase yung vocabulary nya haha, in the end, walang sense yung napakaghaba nyang write up.

      Delete
    2. and the audacity of the writer na sabihin di sya nakabasa ng kahit isang book ni lang leave at di sya aware na 4th visit na nya sa pinas. nakakaloka. i mean, sana dba, knowing that you will be interviewing her, could have read one book man lang and research about her. it's a part of her job.

      Delete
    3. 1:21 writer is low key saying na Lang's is not real poetry

      Delete
Ginawa atang poetry hehehe

    5. 4:51 And who are you to judge? Just because your readership can be counted in one hand doesnt give you the right to be rude.

Its maybe mediocre or instapoet as she describe but she made it so condescending na lumabas talaga na inggit at butthurt sya

    1. True. She wanted to point out that lang leav’s poems are way below her league. Yabang!

  5. Oh no. I read it. Ang bastos ng writer. As in. And she claims herself to be a journalist? Que horror. The article spoke basically of the writer's envy and bitterness, with Lang Leav as the background.

I feel sorry for Lang Leav. And I am embarrassed that the unskilled and horrible writer of the article is a Filipino.

  6. obviously, poet din si ms writer, and prolly jealous cause lang is so successful as a poet, unlike her, na naging journalist, coz for sure she wanted to publish a book like lang leav.

    ReplyDelete
  7. funny how the article didnt really revolve around lang leav. meron pang about another person na binanggit yung writer, which doesnt make sense to me. im not even a fan of lang leav.

    ReplyDelete
  8. The writer of the article screams ENVY, ENVY, ENVY!!!

    ReplyDelete
I feel her dream about Lang Leav at the intro was just made up. Also I got lost at "Thom Young", "Cross-at-Golgotha" part. Paligoy-ligoy. Perhaps writing style niya lang, or to appear intellectually sophisticated, or gusto lang magpa-impress to validate her status being a poet-writer-journalist.

  10. Ate sabi ba ng editor mo e pls compare yourself to Lang Leav, hindi pls write about her?

    ReplyDelete
  11. The writer rambled about everything, and nothing actually about Lang Leav. I would crucify her editor too, for letting this garbage write-up posted.

    ReplyDelete
  12. In the article I learned more about Mookie Katigbak-Lacuesta than Lang Leav... and the things I learned are not something I can be proud of. Wonder what she thinks of Robert Browning? of Elizabeth Barret Browning?

    ReplyDelete
  13. read the article and it clearly screamed of arrogance. i guess the writer is thinking (i've researched on the writer's profile and background btw) how she is of much higher calibre than lang leav and yet here she is tasked to interview her

    ReplyDelete
  14. Napa-elitista ng writer na si Mookie. And yung pagkaka-gamit nya ng "instapoet" is so derogatory, parang discrimination ba. Grabe feeling

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yes i felt it too. So disrespectful.

  15. Bastos yung author. I agree with thom young, though, but I guess thom young has better standing to criticize than the journalist

  16. Insulting article. If this was a true interview without any pinch og jealousy, better to have written the article as straugst Q and A.

If she wants to criticize the instapoetry, she should have written it without dragging her interview with lang leav.

  17. Many people hate lang leav talaga because they find her writing shallow yet many people admire because it's easy to understand and it's relatable. Not a fan but on days i feel like i wanna reminisce i read her book Memories.

    1. 11:03 - WHEN I FIRST READ HER, I THOUGHT IT WAS REALLY SHALLOW PERO I GOT KILIG KASI ANG DALI INTINDIHIN NUNG POEMS NIYA. NO NEED TO DIG DEEPER.

      Delete
    2. 1:42 which is contrary nga sa definition ng poetry because poetry is not supposed to be the same as an aphorism. It's an art form, medyo deep talaga,
but I guess art and literature are dynamic

  18. Ang snob ng “journalist”/wannabe poet na yan ha, pati na rin ang editor who allowed for this envy-filled article na mapublish. At the end of the day, sino bang nakakabenta ng libro at nakakapagentertain ng readers?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Kahiya yung writer! Napapaka high falluting! Gusto pang lumevel kay lang leav. Naku teh. Kahiya ka.

    ReplyDelete

    1. The writer's job is to interview and feature Lang Leav, not make a point about what people should or should not consider "poetry". Basically sa article nya ay ginawa nya lang na example si Leav of a mediocre/questionable poet

      Delete
    2. Let's put it this way-- I don't think mababaw ang poetry ni lang leav. Her poetry just appealed to a younger and wider audience who do not need overthinking and philosophical analysis to grasp the context of her craft and honestly I don't see that as a bad thing. This so-called journalist however is just so condescending to have used derogatory words to make it know that she is far better than lang leav.

      Delete
    3. The journalist is so entitled.

      Delete
However, that doesn't justify the writer's condescending tone. It does not speak well of her to treat a guest who accommodated an interview so crudely.

      Delete
  21. The only thing to do is criticize the writer for not doing her research. Nothing more nothing less

    ReplyDelete
  22. Tama naman si Lang Leav eh. Poetry belongs to everyone. No one has the monopoly of words. For a forner media menber, ako ang nahihiya at pumasa to sa editorial standard. If she has so much bias towarda the subject sana sinabi nya sa editor hindi yung babastosin nya pa ang tao. Nag-promote lang naman eh. If her books inspire kids to read and write then so be it.

  23. I'm not a fan of Lang Leav but I read this Mookie whatever's article to see what the fuss was about. This Mookie woman was so full of herself. Checked her credentials and saw she has a master's degree in creative writing. I read some of her poems and found that, despite all that education, her work is pretentious, forgettable, and boring. I didn't even read it all the way to the end because it put me to sleep. The article was the same. She used a lot of high falluting words to disguise the fact that she really doesn't have anything substantive to say. Poorly researched, narcissistic, rambling article and unprofessional behavior from a supposed Palanca awardee with a master's degree in creative writing.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ay Mookie. You like negative publicity. Weird flex but okay whatever floats your boat

    ReplyDelete
  25. To sum it up, Mookie started and ended her article with a condescending attitude towards Lang Leav.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's not even a feature about Lang. It's just a very long boring rant of a writer slash poet kuno. Nakakahiya sya and ako ang nahiya kay Lang.

  27. I didn't even want to be in this article and although not a fan of Instapoets work they are creating an interest in poetry whch is great. I am a satirical writer and did this social media experiment for research for my novel Instapoet. People can like whatever they like there's room for both in poetry . My novel makes fun of the literary elitism in these MFA creative writing programs

  28. True writers are those who believe that literature and writing are philosophical, intellectual activities and have cognitive value. Creating for the purpose of expression is lame, irresponsible and unintellectual, because there is no point or value at all on what they are trying to say. People nowadays can make "pickup lines", you may call it "poetry" but it doesnt have the real sense of poetry. And this is what I see on Lang Leav's work. Poetry is literature. And literature is critical thinking. People who doesn't want to think critically are mostly fascinated by "poems" because the words are rhyming, but if you are going to analyze it, the message its trying to say is just simple, no complexity, no logical connection. Just a simple pickup lines in rhymes..just like Leav's.
