Getting a Sure Foot In

Has Hardworking Personality (HP) finally realized how much she’s missing out on growing up? Sometime ago, HP wanted changes in her financial life to make sure she gets a hand of each and every peso she’s been earning. First, she requested if she could have the remaining amount in a savings account comprising her fees over the years of performing. Second, she asked if she could have her cheques already in her name.

During her working years, HP allegedly was never able to touch the money she’s been earning. Her needs were given to her and she did not have to go shopping at all. However, HP told Intervening Relative (IR) that she wants to ‘grow up’ and make decisions on her own. Expectedly, IR fumed and reprimanded HP. HP insisted that her goal was to be able to act like a normal citizen and do whatever she pleases with her money.

As HP seems to have woken up to the reality that she has to enjoy the fruits of her labor, she approached her management team and requested to have the payments in her name. While the management team did what was requested, IR would always enter the picture and allegedly prevent HP from getting the cheques in her name. When HP learned of the actions of IR, she told her management that IR should just perform herself.

The strictness of IR has greatly created impact on HP. The cancellation of a media appearance due to the maneuvering of IR has left HP disappointed. Her relationship with Flamboyant Entertainer (FE) was affected and FE was no longer as sweet as before. FE has not sent her text messages nor has FE replied to the messages of HP.

Consequently, HP decided to live away from IR. Her stay in a pad has given her more time to think and face her reality as an adult. Incidentally, HP has kept her dilemma and frustration on IR privately, as she does not want a scandal to ruin her image as well as her family’s dynamics. For now, HP has to pretend that everything is running smoothly and like, any competent actress, has to keep the smile up despite other emotions.
