Against the Demands

In the interest of developing their talents, a management team has remained adamant in imposing its plans for Good-natured Celebrity (GC) rather than bow down to pressure from fans. Ever since the management team saw the rise in the star-meter of GC, the top honchos realized the value of having GC in their care.

Unlike the usual practice, whereby fans often have a say in charting the career of their idols, the team decided to make sure GC grows as a talent. In other words, every project and appearance GC has is carefully planned and even the company that GC keeps in front of the camera has to undergo scrutiny.

One time, GC was going to perform in a big event and the sponsors wanted Pretty Personality (PP) to be a special guest. After all, many followers would want to see PP and GC perform on stage even for just a couple of numbers. Thus, the handlers of PP were informed about the possible guesting and they agreed. PP was willing to show up and perform. Then, the next step was to inform the people behind GC of the request of the sponsor. The response was a negative. The decision was a no to having PP appear in GC’s event.

The management believed that GC being with PP would drastically affect the way they have been charting his career. Moreover, the fans of GC and PP have been very unkind to whomever homegrown talent the management wants to pair with the former. Thus, the handlers of GC were told that the guesting of PP was off. Incidentally, GC had an invitation to grace a project of PP and GC has no problem with that personally. However, his team refused to lend him even just for a few minutes, citing the same reason that they want him to continue his career independent of anyone else.
