It’s because of the story and all asian cast hindi dahil kay kris ang oa nga nya sana nanahimik nalang cya her role is not relevant, pwedeng hindi kasali sa scene
12:22, oo infainess sa kanya. pero iba pa din yung kilala sa pinas tapos bigla mo nakita sa isang Hollywood film. iba yung feeling and yes I'm talking about krissy. sarap sa feeling :)
1:53 gustong maging proud tayo sa pinoy by putting down kris? Okay lang ba utak mo? I watched the film cz i read Kevin kwan's book. Di ko like si kris but in all fairness, mas mapansin pa ang role ni kris kesa ibang supporting casts. Try not to be narrow-minded baks.
Kasi this movie is not about Kris. It is beautiful in its entirety.
The character of Kris is meaty in Book 3. FYI, my American friends were impressed with her. TV talk shows were even showing video clips of her. Don’t be ignorant just because you are a hater!
And yes proud to be pinoy siya. Daming know it all dito kaka-imbey.
That’s not fair. People go out of the country because for most of us, there’s a better opportunity outside. Hindi porke nag US citizen yung tao, itatakwil na natin anubeh. Lawakan naman ang pag-iisip. Wag utak talangka. 🤪🤪🤪
Changing your citizenship does not mean you've lost your love for the Philippines. Mas madaming opportunities na maibibigay ang pagiging US citizen kesa sa US Immigrant. Powerful ang passport nila. Again, lawakan natin ang pag-iisip.
Yes, it's no Gone In The wind, but groundbreaking in terms of having Asian actors as leads in a Hollywood romcom. CRA the film is also groundbreaking because it rejuvenated the romcom genre in Hollywood
Not everyone who watched eh dahil kay kris. Kahit sa us hit yung movie because of the overall casts and gold open movement. Ang babaw mo
Pero sa true lang, it's because I watched the book kaya ayoko na panoorin movie. Medyo boring and overdone na kasi yung kwento. I might still watch, though, because of constance wu. I love her in FOTB
Hahaha! Mahiya naman!
8:14 same here ateng. at kaming mga officemates siya ang pinaguusapan after. yong eksena nya na sobrang ikli pero talagang bongga. eksenadora si princess intan. d ata na gets ng mga tao dito ang significance ng role. so meaning di sila nanood ng bash lang based on what they believe na maliit ang role.
My husband who watched with me ok langyung role ni kris as a way na lalong nag sstep up yung paglaban ni rachel sa mom ni nick pero yung talagang peak/highlight eh nung nag mah jhong na si rachel at eleonor.
Actual michael cinco gown
Maganda yung movie pero mas hilarious yung book. But right on bat naman sila sa casting. Waiting for astrid and charlie saga on the sequel! Ang hot ni charlie!!!
Not just because of Kris pero overall maganda ang film.
The book was kind of meh kasi for me. Very cliche plot with racist undertones. I wanna know if the movie is better than the book? Because book rachel was weak and boring, tbh.
Overall maganda yung film and book nakaka goodvibes lang.
5:57 am, saan banda dun ang hindi ka-getsgets? It's not a philosophical book. Did you even read the book? Mala-telenovela yung kwento with rampant name-dropping. And sorry pero kevin kwan doesn't write that well. It has no literary value. Hype nagdala.
11:55 oh my God! best seller books ni kevin kwan kahit dito sa america, di pa sya magaling nyan ha?! hype lang. talino mo naman! ikaw na ang may literary value and magaling magpuna
1:59 pm, bestselling doesnt mean maganda libro.
If you keep letting other people -bestseller lists dictate your ideas of what's good and not, you'll be stuck reading mediocrity.
wag masyadong maging high and mighty and all knowing na may pa tip ka pa. i read book that interests me, and not because people dictates me or dahil best seller sya. cause i read the book before pa sya na hype. and reading CRA doesn’t mean your mediocre. mayabang ka lang dear. kala mo naman ganun kadali magsulat ng novel. magsulat ka nga and we’ll see if that will rate
Actually tama naman. Making the bestsellers list means madaming bumili. It does not mean magaling pagkakasulat. Kaya nga nag bestseller ang Twilight series.
I also agree re: CRA book series. They're not literary masterpieces. BUT I don't think they were meant to be that anyway. They're for light, easy reading.
4:39/1:59, 50shades and twilight were US best-sellers, teh. Were you born yesterday?
Your only defense of CRA in your hysterical comment was that it made the best-seller list. Calm down. And your smart-shaming falls short of target because sorry, matalino talaga ako.
Lets be honest. It's a typical "asian" love story. But the execution and portrayal of the characters made it great and beautiful. Super love the mahjong scene!
By giving in, Rachel showed Eleanor gaano niya kamahal si Nick and she also values family kaya siya nagparaya.
yeah remember Rachel is a game master. So she knows how to win in a game of chance tulad ng unang pinakita sa University kung saan siya nagtuturo but she gave her winning tile to Eleanor.
I'm a Kris fan but I would admit she's not the main reason why this is a huge hit here. Basically the book/novel already has a built-in followers. Plus buzz dahil nga its a huge blockbuster sa US that made headlines all over the world. But undeniably Kris has help it put over the top.
Anon 10:22 AM, we watched it with my officemates because of kris... wag kana magpaka bitter kc totoo naman na malakas ang hatak ni kris sa movie... at will all fairness palakpakan ang mga tao sa sinehan nung nag moment si tetay.. try mo panuorin para ma experience mo din :PP
1235 and what is your problem with carmen soo??? And kahit ganun role ni carmen as franchesca kita sya agad sa trailer.
If you follow all the movie casts lahat naman sila nag mega promote even the aunties from SG. OA lang talaga si kris. Si carmen lately nalang yan nag promote and most of her IG last year eh about sa baby nya
Apir 6:10! And infer kay carmen wala sya drama drama about the movie. Kung screen time lang labanan mas maraming participationsi carmen compared to kris.
May local movies na umabot agad ng 100M in less than a week lang.
To be fair, I think si Kris naman nakatulong sa hype ng movie. Now if people watched it because of Kris, yan ang hindi natin masasagot unless me survey sa sinehan isa isa. Add din sa fact na flop mga movies ni Kris before this so di naman na ganun kalakas ang power nya.
Bec of Kris kaya tumabo sa Pilipinas. Curious kasi sila kung ano role nya
ReplyDeleteNico Santos was awesome! Congrats to the entire cast and crew
Delete1222 true. Plus Awkwafina.
DeleteRecordbreaking hit sya even in the US for having almost the same sales for 2 weekends.
DeletePersonally i dont see the appeal tho
agree.Kris A. is also the reason why I watched
DeleteSo first week, 7 days total is 82.7 M? That's good!
DeleteIt’s because of the story and all asian cast hindi dahil kay kris ang oa nga nya sana nanahimik nalang cya her role is not relevant, pwedeng hindi kasali sa scene
Delete12:22, oo infainess sa kanya. pero iba pa din yung kilala sa pinas tapos bigla mo nakita sa isang Hollywood film. iba yung feeling and yes I'm talking about krissy. sarap sa feeling :)
DeletePatawa ka teh
Delete6 days total yata
DeleteKris' role is not that important. We Filipinos should be proud of Nico Santos , a real scene stealer.
Delete1:53 meyged ganyan kayo ka low. they are both pinoys so tumigil ka sa pagiging hater mo!
Delete1:53 gustong maging proud tayo sa pinoy by putting down kris? Okay lang ba utak mo? I watched the film cz i read Kevin kwan's book. Di ko like si kris but in all fairness, mas mapansin pa ang role ni kris kesa ibang supporting casts. Try not to be narrow-minded baks.

DeleteMay dugong Pinoy lang si Nico. But he is American through and through. Wag na ipilit.
DeleteKris' is personal accomplishment na naging extra sya sa epic movie n iyo. Nicole Santos' role is more like a proud to be Pinoy moment.
Delete5:37
DeleteThat's not Kris' character. Kris' character was written in, Princess Intan isn't in any book.
You're talking about Dowager Sultana of Perawak.
537pm. Halatang nag imbento. Lol!
And yes proud to be pinoy siya. Daming know it all dito kaka-imbey.
Wag nyo namang itakwil yung tao lol.
DeleteOne week total of box office ang P87M.
DeleteI have to watch it out of curiosity on Kris role. Kudos to her though.
DeleteThat’s not fair. People go out of the country because for most of us, there’s a better opportunity outside. Hindi porke nag US citizen yung tao, itatakwil na natin anubeh. Lawakan naman ang pag-iisip. Wag utak talangka. 🤪🤪🤪

Deletenila. Again, lawakan natin ang pag-iisip.
Really? It's not Gone With the Wind so keber. Next year, it will be forgotten coz it's forgettable. Standards people
ReplyDelete2013 pa nga yung book eh
DeleteI sooo agree.
Delete100%agree 👍👍👍
DeleteYep. Nothing life-changing. It’s like how people found The Greatest Showman so good, pero hindi naman
DeleteIt never claimed to be Gone witj the Wind. Where are you coming from?
DeleteThat’s what you think. Movie of the Book 2 is already being considered.
DeleteCrazy Rich Asians is shaping up to be one of 2018’s biggest success stories. It has made $76 million so far (P4 Billion) in the US alone.
DeleteYes, it's no Gone In The wind, but groundbreaking in terms of having Asian actors as leads in a Hollywood romcom. CRA the film is also groundbreaking because it rejuvenated the romcom genre in Hollywood
DeleteHey guys! It is no.1 in the US. And the book is so popular. Though many are curious about Kris , who has a non-significant role.
ReplyDeleteSa true lang, if you read the book, gugustohin mo talagang panoorin, not because of Kris.
DeleteGive credit where credit is due, which is for Kevin Kwan. I saw the movie coz I read the book and I love the all Asian ensemble.
And that's a fact!
DeleteHindi nga kumita yung last movie, tapos ngayon sya and dahilan why its popular sa pilipinas? Whatever!!
Not everyone who watched eh dahil kay kris. Kahit sa us hit yung movie because of the overall casts and gold open movement. Ang babaw mo

DeleteI love love love love Peik Lin and Astrid! Can’t wait to see the next installment!
ReplyDeleteGood casting I may say... nagandahan ako kay astrid which is gemma chan saka si awkwafina funny talaga. Anticipating din ako!!!
DeleteNot because of Kris excuse me
ReplyDeleteMy friends and I saw the movie because of Kris, excuse me!

Pinanuod naming to nang mga office mates ko because of kris #SaTrueLang kaya excuse me hahaha
DeleteBecause of Kris kaya HINDI namin pinanood. Turn off sa kayabangan.
DeleteThe movie is just ok, the book is better
ReplyDeleteAgree ako!
DeleteAs if naman binasa niya talaga.
Delete8:47 slow mo hahaha!
DeleteMaganda yung movie pero mas hilarious yung book. But right on bat naman sila sa casting. Waiting for astrid and charlie saga on the sequel! Ang hot ni charlie!!!
DeleteGrabe super explosive chemistry ni Gemma Chan and Harry Shum.
DeleteThe book is already a best seller long before kris got into the picture

ReplyDeleteFor me, mas maganda ang book. Sa movie kasi is more focused sila kay Nick at Rachel.
DeleteSame lang bes.
DeletePareho tayo. Na bore din ako sa book. Sa movie, pareho din, it focused too much in showing the crazy richness, medyo minadali na yung ending.
Baka hindi mo lang ma-gets. It’s an international bestseller, darling!
Deletemovie is so average nothing extravagant,

Buti pa si 11:44, may sense yung sagot.
I watched it because of Henry
ReplyDeletePareho tayo. And may 1% because of Kris. Hehe..
ReplyDeleteEven here in the US. Asians, not only Filipinos were excited to see Kris!
DeleteWow, pati hindi Filipino excited daw to see Kris. Imbento pa more!!
DeleteCongrats, this is a beautiful movie. Asians ang bida sa Hollywood.
ReplyDeleteThey tried to cram too many things into one movie...it did have tender moments but overall shallow...loved Awkwafina and Nico Santos here
ReplyDeleteHater alert!!!
DeleteShallow naman talaga, 8:06. It's a romcom.
In real life Henry is happily married. No need for cheap gimmicks
Lol.
Deleteutaw utaw kasi mga pinoy, gusto palagi ng love team. kahit peke binibili parin.
DeleteEwan ko ba sa pinoy. Kung hindi loveteam, puro naman hugot. Akala mo napagkaitan ng pag-ibig mga tao

ReplyDeleteSus. Nakalimutan daw si Kris.Haha!
DeleteMaganda siya!! :) Just watched it yesterday. It is happy to see Asian stars for a hollywood film. Plus Henry!!

ReplyDeleteI watched it because of Kris and I wanted to support an all asian movie. So don't say na walang pull si Kris.
