Sana these brainy and influential people take time to support the local industry and not just think about the money. If they can use their talents and popularity to give local workers jobs and make local raw materials more useful and popular, it would really help the country and more people will even respect them. They wont be labeled copycats if ever. They dont really have to, but it would really be nice if they use everything they have to promote the country instead of sourcing from other countries and just enriching their own pockets.
