True. And when they go in long haul flights, they see their family only after more than a week. They've no choice but to hire nannies for their kids. And admit it or not, though flying is safe, there's this niggling thought that it just might be the last time they fly.
They’re nicr to passengers. I’ll give you that. And to the captain of course, but to others? Medyo mataas ang tingin nila sa sarili niya, specially the young ones na nakapasok lang naman dahil palakasan system. Mas bet ko ang Cathay FAs. Aside from being the nicest, para sakin prettiest din sila and most pleasant
I had bad experiences flying PAL and I have encountered rude FA, that’s why I don’t fly PAL anymore. I love Thai airways, Emirates, Cathay, ANA and Singapore Airlines!
Dapat lang. Kung may sakit ka na, magretire na as FA at alagain lang yan sa flight. Naalala ko yung international flight ng PAL. Nagannounce sila kung may doctor onboard. So may limang doctor na lumapit. Yun pala, yung FA ang may sakit. May high blood at naiwan ang maintenance meds sa Pinas. Kaloka!
Some Asian carriers lang yung sinasabi mo siguro. Kasi sa mga us, british and aussie airlines pwede pa din naman sila mag work as FAs even if 40s and above na sila.
Hindi din. Umaabot sila ng Php100k a month. Mataas na yan sa cost of living ng Pinas. Mataas sweldo sa emirates or etihad pero mataas din cost of living dun. Tapos sobrang pagod pa sila kasi minimum rest hours lang and binibigay sa kanila. Yung tipong dating mo eh 1AM tapos lipad ka ulit ng mga 5PM the same day.
Uhm, I know an Emirates FA, and they are given 2-3 rest days between flights. I'm not including flights they have which are turnarounds, like DXB-RUH-DXB. But if it is say, DXB-SIN-MEL-AUK-MEL-SIN-DXB, they get back to Dubai after around two weeks because they rest at the stopovers/destination for 2-3days. They also have free accommodation and transportation for work, so they just spend for their food and other things. Their per diem depends on the location and number of days. So from per diem alone, they can get an extra 2th dollars on top of their normal salary. They are of course, have been desensitized enough to work even during important holidays if they are on duty. Or to have a messed up body clock for years.

ReplyDeleteNah, it’s much safer than driving statistically.
DeleteI find the PAL flight attendants one the the bests if not the best. Very efficient.
ReplyDeleteI agree. They are very nice, courteous and they really take good care of the passengers!
