If this righteous family doesn't want the public to know about Gary's latest health condition, why the need to have the show interview him? There is nothing with the teaser made by the show to be honest.

But it's inaccurate to use the word has. It should be reworded like, Gary is in remission, Gv wins his battle against the big C. Something that would say that he no longer has kidney cancer.

You’re wrong. My friend had cancer. After she went through all the chemo and trial drugs, she had PET scan (as SOP here in most cancer treatment center in the US). The scan shows no sign of cancer cells exists, so she was declared in remission (cancer free). She still repeat the scan every 2 months thereafter but she was never told to wait for 5 years (but of course, she needs to be careful of her lifestyle coz cancer cells can show anytime). She had her cancer treatment done at Dana-Farber in Boston.
12:42 Gary said the doctors found out about his cancer when he undergone heart surgery (?). I think the operation happened about a month ago, correct me if wrong. So based on the timeline, he couldn't possibly be cancer free after a month of diagnosis? (How long did it take your friend to be declared cancer free?) Unless it's possible to be rid of cancer cells in the kidney by removing it entirely. Idk though. I'm not a doctor. It's just based on what I read about cancer. That's why we should just wait for the interview or the family could just release a statement.
But I hope Gary indeed is cancer free. Kind people deserve longer lifespan.
My friend had to finished all the chemo treatment, then she had undergone adult immunization then steam cell transplant thereafter. After all the process, she had PET scan. Only the PET scan can show if the cancer cell is still there or how far it spread and where. Overall she was diagnosed on remission within a year (after completing her required treatment). Every case is different on each individual patient though...
Walang cure ang cancer! Magiging dormant Lang yan pero pag bumaba ang immune system mo, cancer will wreak havoc on your system and it will be devastating!

They quoted the teaser. But the family never called out the network. Honest grammatical mistake but not really fake news. No intention to spread fake news.

For Gary's sake (who has been patient, humble and gracious), I pray he does not relapse until years and years to come (like more than 30 years).

ReplyDeleteYou’re wrong. My friend had cancer. After she went through all the chemo and trial drugs, she had PET scan (as SOP here in most cancer treatment center in the US). The scan shows no sign of cancer cells exists, so she was declared in remission (cancer free). She still repeat the scan every 2 months thereafter but she was never told to wait for 5 years (but of course, she needs to be careful of her lifestyle coz cancer cells can show anytime). She had her cancer treatment done at Dana-Farber in Boston.
Delete12:42 Gary said the doctors found out about his cancer when he undergone heart surgery (?). I think the operation happened about a month ago, correct me if wrong. So based on the timeline, he couldn't possibly be cancer free after a month of diagnosis? (How long did it take your friend to be declared cancer free?) Unless it's possible to be rid of cancer cells in the kidney by removing it entirely. Idk though. I'm not a doctor. It's just based on what I read about cancer. That's why we should just wait for the interview or the family could just release a statement.

DeleteMy friend had to finished all the chemo treatment, then she had undergone adult immunization then steam cell transplant thereafter. After all the process, she had PET scan. Only the PET scan can show if the cancer cell is still there or how far it spread and where. Overall she was diagnosed on remission within a year (after completing her required treatment). Every case is different on each individual patient though...

Honest question. Bakit hindi pwedeng gawing headline ang past tense kung yun ang totoo? Dahil si gary v yun, guess it does not matter kung present o past kasi magiging interesado pa rin ang mga tao.
