I agree kung di revival ang mga kanta, they all sound the same. Anu ba yan wala ng authentic, one hit wonder na then after a while nakakalimutan na. Nothibg beats the classic pa rin
Why explain, Ely? Just do your thing. If it doesn’t sell, you should still be fine with it, right? So, then, just put your music out and stop admonishing the “fans” that you’re not doing it for them.
As for the demos you receive, you must understand that those come from people who aspire to be something someday. You know about that dream as you were once in that position, yes? Aspiring artists always reference their inspiration, and if the young blood that come to you and your team mentions “the E word,” why is that so bad? They look up to you and your former mates, no need to knock them for it. Couldn’t you just look past that and listen; and then judge from the quality of the material? I can’t imagine young start ups coming to your team to have the same bravado and/or the sophistication you have now, so give them a break, or else just cut out the BS that you care to discover new blood. Perhaps, it would help your ego if you weren’t too accessible to everyone, just do the leg work yourself, and find the talent you want. It is after all, “all about what you want,” from start to finish...we get it. You’re “the One and the Only.” #ElyBuenDiva
Totally agree.
Just observe the music industry. Hope I didn't offend anyone with my comment.
Hahahaha....it’s like that in pinas. Everything is a copy. Music, movies, tv shows......all copied from somewhere or someone. No originality and no quality at all.
There are exceptions. At maraming magagaling sa bagong breed. Pero banda? Group? Waley. TNT boys I hope soon they will sing their own songs and wow the world more.
trying to be original and yet you're looking and sounding more and more like an british rock band, with the coat and tie attire pa. im ok with experimenting, pero it's not just your music that's changed, pati get up, pati attitude.
I agree kung di revival ang mga kanta, they all sound the same. Anu ba yan wala ng authentic, one hit wonder na then after a while nakakalimutan na. Nothibg beats the classic pa rin
ReplyDeletePahinga ka na ely. Over and out.
DeleteSus! Yabang talaga neto! E inspiration kayo malamang kaya nabanggit.
ReplyDeletemag imbento daw kayo ng mga kakaiba. Para magkaron ng identity ang inyong banda. Tama din naman yang si Ely
ReplyDeleteKuya Ely, di ko po maarok. Simpleng mamamayan lang po ako
ReplyDeleteFans na naman may kasalanan. Etong mga celebrities na to talaga!
ReplyDeleteAno ba yang E? Ely o Experimental? Eraserheads? Sorry di ko gets
ReplyDeleteYung dati niyang Banda.
Delete12:37 Epal. lol
Delete1:00 mas epal ka
DeleteBakit triggered sya sa E word? I mean he is nothing without that E.
DeleteSad state of the Filipino music scene. Puro Lemmings.
ReplyDeleteYup, everything in showbiz...movies, tv shows, etc.
ReplyDeleteTrue. May records at concert pa ang walang talent, sintunado pa.....too funny talaga. It’s like a big joke.
DeleteWhy explain, Ely? Just do your thing. If it doesn’t sell, you should still be fine with it, right?
ReplyDeleteSo, then, just put your music out and stop admonishing the “fans” that you’re not doing it for them.

Delete@206, more like, “yung superiority complex ni Ely.” Yeah, I agree with both 116 & 206.
DeleteAgree!!!
DeleteAgree. I used to be the biggest Eraserheads’ fan. I still am. But I think Ely needs to slap his pretentious self to wake up.
DeleteExactly my thoughts. Thanks for putting it to words. 👍

ReplyDeleteYou are right. They all sound the same.
DeleteLahat.....
DeleteDami naman magagaling sa indie scene. OPM is still alive and well.
ReplyDeleteThey all sound the same though.
DeleteYes OPM is still alive. It’s the mainstream media that’s trying to kill it.
DeleteHahahaha....it’s like that in pinas. Everything is a copy. Music, movies, tv shows......all copied from somewhere or someone. No originality and no quality at all.
ReplyDeleteThere are exceptions. At maraming magagaling sa bagong breed. Pero banda? Group? Waley. TNT boys I hope soon they will sing their own songs and wow the world more.
ReplyDeleteNot even wowed by those boys. They are being 'molded' into a novelty act instead of true music artists. Mabenta sa Pinoy eh.

ReplyDeleteTrue! Paul McCartney is that you na? Kalurkey tong si Ely. Si Paul nga di ganyan magsalita. O e di sige Ely, ikaw na haligi ng OPM.
Deletedapat nga grateful siya na people are still looking up to him and Eheads. eh mas dun nakakarelate most of the fans eh kaysa dun sa isa niya band.
