Bea Alonzo gave another outstanding performance in the movie “Kasal”. What's great about her is her ability to be able to perfectly capture the little nuances that make a character unique. You will see, love or take pity on her role as Lia.
But what's fascinating and remarkable in this movie is that while Bea was amazing, she was almost upstaged by Paulo Avelino. He was, for me, the real standout in this movie. His portrayal of Philip was vulnerable and real.

Congrats naman! Pansin ko, sa mga movies ng SC this pahirapan umabot ng 100M. ang My Perfect You naka 100M after 18 days, ito naman after 10 days. Not bad. Though nuong nasa 2012 onwards mga 5 days palang ng movies nakaka 100M na! To think malaki na ang prices ng cinemas ngayon. dapat mas malaki ang kita. Nananamlay na talaga ang pelikulang pilipino. puro kasi holywood tinatangkilik. tsk.

Atleast nakabawi tayo kesa last month na nilampaso ng Infinity war ang Tagalog movie natin.
If I were to base my assumptions on the movie trailer alone, I would say that it's an ordinary love triangle story. And it does start out like your typical Pinoy drama. Then without warning, it hits you surprisingly and intensely, because the movie storyline was definitely interesting, fresh and has a twist... DEFINITELY WORTH WATCHING.
PAULO AVELINO shines with his acting. He was able to sell the internal struggle of Philip, which was the main hook of the movie. Between the pressure from his family and his internal problem, not to mention supposedly being a genuinely good person, it easy for the movie audience to root for him.
“Kasal” is probably one of ABS-CBN Films and Star Cinema’s most shocking, daring and unforgettable movies in a long time. The movie is a new spin to the generic love triangle that hinges on marriage. For a change, the story doesn’t center on the traditional way of cheating.
Umay na ang mga viewers sa role ni Bea na laging pinagaaagawan ng 2 lalaki! I think she”s too old for this kind of role, dapat sa kanya married na with kids na ang role nya!
Philip’s role portrayed by Paulo Avelino is probably the hardest character to pull off in the film, but he manages to bring Philip to life with flying colors. He is the one that gave this film the intensity it needed with his emotional and powerful performance.
In my opinion, “Kasal” is indeed the perfect film to celebrate the 25th anniversary in the industry of the country’s biggest film company. ABS-CBN Films and Star Cinema has never done something like this, making it a breath of fresh air for mainstream moviegoers. From its sweeping drama, powerful performances and atypical yet mature take on true love, “Kasal” is definitely a must-see.
