    5. Yes, that's the real Manila.

Although, artistically speaking, kulang sa angle yung shots. Had he got it right, mas may impact sana yung pictures.

      Delete
    6. Ganyan naman talaga. It’s unique for foreigners to see such sights, that’s it. I don’t think he is trying the embarass anybody, or shame the city or the country. He captured the real essence of the urban poor and the city that he visited. Diba nag jeep pa nga siya, he immersed himself during his short visit.

      Delete
    8. ganda ng first shot niya. the second is ok din, but the third not so much. artistic yung first and second pics. i know defensive mode ang feeling nyo, but if you look at them objectively, ok mga kuha nya. interesting and authentic.

    9. Anon 4:09, the strength of a chain is in it’s weakest link.

    10. if you check his IG account, he loves posting about nature and clean serene views. You'd wonder what changed. Those Manila pics are the only filthy looking pics in his account. So to say that this is what he looks for artistic expression doesn't really connect with the rest of his previous work or posts. hmmmm

Second pic is bangketa is where we conduct our business. Since we are chinese we are untouchables.

Third pic is our architectural unfrastructure its like you're in the jungle. Ligaw ligaw din pag me time.

    2. 1:27 Check some other road pictures in other neighboring countries, particularly Indonesia. There is no difference.

And honestly, First and Second Pic are really eyesore. What a shame.

Not a fan of politics or politicians, kasi parehas lang mga yan... mga corrupt! Yuck, just like trashy Manila.

      Delete

      Delete
    11. 12:53 Reality check please, this is how Manila looks. He did not bash or say anything degrading about the city. His lens just captured the nitty gritty truth. I appreciate it, there is beauty in non curated places.

      Delete
Ngayon may build build build. So magbabayad uli tayo ng utang kahit nakababa na sa pwesto ang year 2050 nating presidente. Hahaha

Marami din naman siyang napuntahang magaganda in Manila, I'm sure hindi naman siya pinatira sa slum area, doon siya sa 5 star hotel, at pinasyal siya sa ibang mga parte, so why post only this part?!? nangiinsulto ba ito sa Pilipinas?!?

Kumbaga gusto niyang makilala ang isang bansa through the eyes of normal people. Kaya nga mas pinili niya mag Poblacion at Divisoria.

  24. Good that he's pointing out what the real Manila looks like. It's not just the fancy side. Most in Manila still live in shacks or places that are so unsanitary. It's not always more fun in the Philippines when u see ppl basically begging, dirty water and not to mention the tons of garbage that's stacked and lined up on the side of the messed up streets. U can show a foreigner all the beautiful places in Pinas, but u can't hide the sad either. Now this is a real art photo.

It's not just about the high rise and glam or the nice beaches. That's your country and should be proud of the good and bad.

Tapos lagi pang itatanong ng interviewer, "how do you find the Philippines?". As if representation ang Manila ng buong Pikipinas. Tsaka nag cicringe ako pag sasabihin ng foreign artist na it's beautiful in here. We all know that ain't true.

  42. eh talaga naman Manila yan hahaha alangan naman mag pic sya sa bgc o makati o moa tas lagay niya Manila eh di nagreact kayo lalo.

  43. medyo na offend ako sa mga pictures na ganito coming from a visitor, why focus on these photos? pinapakita nag kahirapan, this is not representing the entire Manila! paninira ito sa imahe ng Pilipinas. Not everyone is impoverished.

    1. The point here is yung poverty level ng pinas.

    3. this!

  50. This is how we want to live our life. The Gov has little do to with it. We are the majority. This is democracy. We always get what we want. Nobody to blame but ourselves.

  52. Guys anong gusto nyo, pictures ng Makati or BGC? He's not paid to feature our country in a well-curated feed. Reality bites. That IS a pretty good representation of Manila, and he didn't say that that is all there is to it. - neither Cole nor a fan

This doesn't represent the Philippines and Im sure he is not doing an documentary about poverty in the Philippines.

  57. Some people cannot handle the truth. Eh yan naman ang totoong Manila. Madumi, mabaho, magulo. Gusto lang takpan ng iba the dirty reality that is manila.
