We might not know the whole story, but what looks obvious to the observer is Kris' continuous efforts to alienate Bimby from his father. Time will pass, Kris will grow old, and her fans will move on. Bimby will grow up, have his own realizations about things, and he will decide what kind of relationship he wants to have with his dad.

Time will pass, Kris will grow old, and her fans will move on. Bimby will grow up, have his own realizations about things, and he will decide what kind of relationship he wants to have with his dad.
