You know some people think Derek made the wrong choice by choosing money & moving to tv5 over abs which made him “laos”, but tbh he would’ve been “laos” anyways if he had stayed with ABS. It’s all about loveteams there and Derek was never a box office hit on his own, the guy was just able to get lucky breaks. So at least he became laos with millions, as opposed to nothing.
I agree. Yeah the guy chose money but it was money that was able to help him and his family. Also acting was never his passion so it’s really no big loss to him that he’s not one of the great actors ala jlc or piolo. If he stayed with abs he would’ve been broke and no career. I’d rather chose to be rich with no career.
Honestly Derek has shown that he's all about the money, not loyalty! He got lucky with two blockbuster hits and all of a sudden he believed he was worth millions🙄🙄when in reality the movies were only hits cuz he was paired with popular actors vice and Anne. He left ABS cuz they wouldn't pay him what he believed he was worth, did he honestly think abs would pay him more than their prized talents like Piolo and JLC, actors who've been in the industry way longer than him and have actually proven themselves to be successful solo stars?!?! He became arrogant! Now look where his career ended up, doing same roles over and over again, no growth. Now he's trying to get back to ABS cuz there's nowhere else for him to go!
Kaya sports channel na lang ang tv5. Try kaya nila mag produce ng reality shows ung mejo controversial para makahatak ng viewers. Wag ung mga pa cute lang. Tipong parang 90daysfiance o kaya parang the bachelor or basketball wives or real housewives baka sakaling pumatok. fan ako ng reality shows. Started with real world ng mtv dati. Hahaha jusko lord tanders ko na.
naalala ko nung college ako(early 2000s) ganyan mga show ng tv5... yung single, misadventures of ariel and maverick(medyo scripted pero in real life yung style).
....yet who are we to judge him? He's also a human being and has needs di lang personally but also for his family. Kailangan din nyang mabuhay. Siguro naging praktikal lang sya that time.
