Others might think that this is similar to Thai or Brunei national costume, or that of Malaysia's or that of Myanmar or Cambidia's...YES, it is precisely because the Mindanaoan culture was the only part of us that has been preserved and not touched by the Spanish colonizers. I don't want to break your bubble, bes but Mindanao was somehow "touched" by the Spanish colonization. Please don't forget Chavacano -- a Spanish-based creole language spoken in the Philippines. Most of Chavacano speakers are in Zamboanga, which is located in Mindanao...
