Keep the Conversation Down

Behavior in public places is always a gauge as to how ordinary people would judge celebrities. Famous people have to more aware that their movements are always watched and oftentimes, judged. A wrong moment can create a reputation, which can be recalled more than the achievements one has done. Fame has its own consequences and familiarity means having to be extra careful at the manner one conducts himself/herself.

Sometime ago, diners at a restaurant were surprised at the loud conversations happening at one of the tables. To their shock, Media Royalty (MR) and her respected family were seated and talking like they were the only ones dining at that time. Some customers were a bit disturbed, but their reactions were more of disbelief. MR has a reputation of keeping things simple and although her projects for the network are thought-provoking and controversial, she is not known to be loud.

MR, having been in the department for decades has proven herself well beyond the reputation of her family. While her family members are known to be active participants in various society affairs, she managed to make a name for herself on her own. She’s dedicated to her work and to the principles stood for by her vocation and network. Hence, she has earned her space in the network with her countless awards and recognitions in the local and international arenas.

The incident at the restaurant, sadly, created an impression that MR and her family were calling attention to themselves, which is quite unbelievable. That was probably the reason why diners were turned off, as they did not expect MR to be such. Of course, the family could just have been having fun and much excitement was generated as they were exchanging views. However, that was not the impression that they got. Diners were irked, as the loud voices filled the room.

“The art of conversation is the art of hearing as well as of being heard.” ― William Hazlitt

  12. There are times when i am aware that i am doing it, other times not so much. Baka ganado lang sila. In which case other family members might be aware that they were loud and chose not to speak out to not ruin the mood.

  13. Maybe they were celebrating! They are such a low key family so this exception should not be taken against them. Let them have their fun.

  14. Normal for filipinos especially sa mga get together. We are a happy people. Its so happen na kilala silang pamilya kaya may mga talks na ganun.

Anyway, manonod pa rin ako sa show mo K kc gusto yung mga featured dun. Pakahumble na kayo ha at huwag feeling entitled to be loud anywhere anytime.

    1. sa susunod 12:49, tikom bibig na lang sila pag sa public dinning place, o di kaya mag sign language na lang by way of communication. OA naman yung ibang people, lalo na mga entitled or rich people kuno. Next time, sa sementaryo na lang kasi sila magdinner. Walang ingay doon.
