If you live in the same roof and shared assets including bank acct and properties even if you are not legally married then you are considered common- law- married. In fact in sone states like Texas, you may need divorce kahit di kayo kasal as long as you live with your partner for atleast 3 yrs.

Its a BIG SLAP to real wives who are bound with wedding ring on their finger, with legal documents, and perform wedding ceremonial rites at the church, with God's blessing. PARTNER or LIFETIME PARTNER is more appropriate and acceptable to these women who are not married.
