but the wife and co are australian passport holders? i don't they are required transit visas? i'm a taiwan passport holder and i was not required tho. kawawa naman, yung stresss plus ang mahal ng rebooking fee, on top of the penalty yung ticket difference pa.
The NEW rule was implemented last yr. Ung mga citizens from countries na di need ng Canada Visitor Visa to travel to Canada eh need mag-apply ng eTA. Iba po ang visa sa eTA. Pero pag Phil Passport holder ka, u don’t need eTA to travel to Canada. What u need is the Canada visitor visa.
10:37 What's wrong with online booking? I do all my transactions onlin3 esp. flights and visa application. You just need to be knowledgeable and be prepared pre-departure so you won't have trouble on your departure date. Print everything what you need to print beforehand and check all policies for each country you're passing by.
This is only applicable to visa exempt countries. Kailangan nila kumuha ng eTA. Online, kaya nga electronic travel authorization. Pag Philippines passport holder, hindi kasali! US Visa lang requirement not Canadian visa! Kung US ang ultimate destination. Or vice versa.
A Canadian passport guarantees you visa free entry to almost all the countries In the planet - except Australia. Australia required Canadians to get a visa. Hahahah Baka resbak ng Canada Ito - and actually this has been required since forever
he's recounting the ordeal and reminding people, in case someone out there is still clueless. this things come in handy, you know? wag ka maangas ha? wag masyadong tard.
Si drew nga san san nagpupunta now lang nalaman eh. Di lahat ng alam mo alam ng lahat ng tao.
Thing is, Canada is not their destination. Its a mere layover. Di sila lalabas ng airport teh. So di nya siguro naisip na icheck yung CIC re permissions since di naman sila talaga pupunta ng Canada. Gets mo baaaa
Kala mo sya nagbayad nung ticket nila drew for rebooking haha
TRUE, agents can also be blamed here. Some honest agents will remind you about layover if you have proper documents. SOme dont, as long as makapagbenta. Totoo as traveller u have to check our layovers.
Kung frequent traveller ka like drew, dapat common sense na to check the latest entry requirements sa destination or transit country na pupuntahan niyo. And i agree, the travel agent or airline is partly to be blamed. Maybe not all had that reminder, but it is the traveller’s responsibility to check imo.
11:37 PM. Sabihin na nating ang galing mo magtravel, but not everyone is. Wag mo na pakialaman if some people would like to help those who are not in the know. It's a learning process for everyone, be happy skilled ka na diyan in addition to having all the time and means to research.
Only US passport holders are exempted from this, nothing to do with being a first world country. This rule has been implemented for a while and it is always on their website even before they implemented it. They should have known better.
12:49 May ETA na rin na kailangan for US passport holders na tatawid ng border, pero they can secure it sa border na mismo, or they can do it online and it will only take 5 minutes to be approved. Ang problema nga lang e kung down ang system nila, so do it beforehand na tjust to be sure.
I think ang problem niya is yung wife and mom in law niya who are holding australian passports. They were surprised na even aus sila, need padin. He’s a traveller so in his na na he’s holding a Ph passport, gets niya yon
Immigration rules changes so fast, lalo na after nitong mga SECUTIRY breaches sa mga airports at terrorism issues. KAYA as a traveller always check ONLINE or govt agencies about the requirement. TAMA advise ni DREW, always know the rules and requirements.
3:21 - TRUE. JUST TO SHARE - KAPAG NAKAKUHA KA NG U.S. TOURIST VISA TAPOS PUMUNTA KANG U.S. (FIRST ENTRY) TAPOS NAG-ASAWA KA DURING YOUR TRIP, E IDEDEPORT KA OR MAKUKULONG KA. RECENTLY LANG DIN IYAN NILABAS NG US IMMIGRATION.
Yes. Visa lang need mo. eTA are for those citizens of another country na visa free pag nagtravel sa Canada like Aussies, Japanese, Koreans and members of Commonwealth.
That's why you have to check your lay overs kahit saglit lang kayo dun. If anong documents ang kailangan and if you need a visa or anong patakaran sa bansang un. Iba iba kasi talaga
I'm guessing separate booking yung manila to vancouver nila at vancouver to new york. hindi iisang itinerary kaya hinanapan ng eta. it takes 5 minutes to get an eta online plus minimal payment fee. you always have to make sure you have everything u need before u travel and keep photocopies of your travel documents separate from your handbag in case mawalan ka ng passport etc.
No. Kasama sa print out yan ng ticketing and hindi un controlled ng agent/travel agency. I think kung nagbasa lang sana sila it will save them from hassle
Lesson is do the research before you travel to other countries from airline, immigration at custom's nang bansa. madami nang available information sa net.
This almost happened to me! Buti nalang I read the whole flight confirmation a week before our flight. I’m a PH passport holder who went to Canada last month. I am a US permanent resident. I applied for the ETA online and true enough, 10 minutes lang siya and it costs 3 USD. It was printed in bold letters (hard to miss) sa flight confirmation na citizens of visa exempt countries who go to or transit through Canada need ETA except US Citizens. Just sharing.
Must be for Australia citizens? Flew to NYC via PAL (last year) and had a layover in Vancover as well. Didn't require an eTA (I have a Philippine Passport). PAL just handed us a laminated card that says IN TRANSIT. Their security is very strict though.
Did I MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT A VISA??? If I read Drew's post correctly, they had a 2 hour layover in Vancouver. And since his wife and mother in law are australian citizens, maybe they are required to get an eTA #Chill #KnowItAll
Naging mahigpit na ang Canadian Port Of Entries since Trump won. I am a Canadian and my hubby is American who visits us all the time. When my MIL visited us this year, she was asked how long she's staying? When she answered 3 weeks, sabi ang taga daw. Dati 6 months pd magstay tourist dito. Changes happen on immigration very quickly. Just be ready all the time.
Frequent traveller or not dapat nagbabasa talaga tayo at mag research kung anong travel documents ang kailangan, kung may lay over at visa/eta na kailangan sa bansang un. Huwag din umasa lang sa travel agency to do everything for you.
I think kasalanan din ng PAL. Dapat na inform sila Drew before boarding dito sa Manila na Australian passport holders need ETA when transiting through Canada. Siguro di aware ang PAL ground crew regarding this rule.
Dapat nagbasa sya when he was booking. Hello may pop up sa website informing that you'll need eta for certain passport holders! Entitled masyado porke artista.
but the wife and co are australian passport holders? i don't they are required transit visas? i'm a taiwan passport holder and i was not required tho. kawawa naman, yung stresss plus ang mahal ng rebooking fee, on top of the penalty yung ticket difference pa.
ReplyDeleteLumipad kna ba ngayon.ngayon dun?

DeleteSaklap :(
ReplyDeleteSo Australians actually need that for Canada? Hmm. Really surprised because they are passport holders of a first world country.
ReplyDelete12:28 safety knows no first, second, third or last.
DeleteA Canadian passport guarantees you visa free entry to almost all the countries
DeleteIn the planet - except Australia. Australia required Canadians to get a visa. Hahahah Baka resbak ng Canada
Ito - and actually this has been required since forever
It is not that CANADA wants to get back at other countries. It is all about SAFETY of the countries implementing it.
DeleteCanadians don't need a visa to go to Australia. What they need is an eTA. Same goes for Australians traveling to Canada.
DeleteNo, you are mistaken. ETA lang kelangan hindi visa which you can pay online for $20.
DeleteActually, 6:09, its only $7 CAD.
DeleteGUYS, ALL COUNTRIES THAT DO NOT NEED A CANADA VISA ARE REQUIRED TO SECURE AN ETA BEFORE THEY TRAVEL TO CANADA. THEY DON'T NEED A VISA, JUST ETA.
DeleteMag hunos dili kayo! Geez. High blood agad?
DeleteYou dont have to remind us drew. Common problem na yan. Aware na lahat niyan
ReplyDeletehe's recounting the ordeal and reminding people, in case someone out there is still clueless. this things come in handy, you know? wag ka maangas ha? wag masyadong tard.
DeleteHindi lahat.
DeleteHindi ako aware.🙄
pampam ka! 😅😎
12:39 Mamaru! Miss know-it-all. Ganern!
Si drew nga san san nagpupunta now lang nalaman eh. Di lahat ng alam mo alam ng lahat ng tao.
DeleteGosh whats wrong with u. Read all the comments on his ig page, even I didnt know abt this one . Wag mashado feeling know it all
DeleteAyan kups yabang mo kasi. Edi kaw na mas magaling kay drew! Siguro you're patting your own back (kung abot mo) kasi mas may alam ka sa iba no?
DeleteDi ko alam so na-informed nya ako
Delete12:39... feeling know it all naman. marami kaming d nakaka alam.
DeleteDrew, thanks for the info, it'll save people who have read this possible future inconvenience
Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteThing is, Canada is not their destination. Its a mere layover. Di sila lalabas ng airport teh. So di nya siguro naisip na icheck yung CIC re permissions since di naman sila talaga pupunta ng Canada. Gets mo baaaa
DeleteKahit na. Dapat pati lay over mo titignan mo if kailangan ng visa.
Kala mo sya nagbayad nung ticket nila drew for rebooking haha

ReplyDeleteMy personal experience. US passport holder, went to Australia last year, still required to get ETA. I initially thought di ko din kelangan.
Delete12:49 May ETA na rin na kailangan for US passport holders na tatawid ng border, pero they can secure it sa border na mismo, or they can do it online and it will only take 5 minutes to be approved. Ang problema nga lang e kung down ang system nila, so do it beforehand na tjust to be sure.
DeleteUS PASSPORT HOLDERS STILL NEED AN ETA. NO COUNTRY IS EXEMPTED ACTUALLY.
DeleteWell if you holds a Philippine passport always expect the unexpected...sad but true.
ReplyDeleteI think ang problem niya is yung wife and mom in law niya who are holding australian passports. They were surprised na even aus sila, need padin. He’s a traveller so in his na na he’s holding a Ph passport, gets niya yon

DeleteThey are Australian citizens. Canada and Australia are both "commonwealth". I mean they are "sister-countries".
ReplyDeleteCanadians need an ETA to go to Australia and vice versa.
DeleteNasa website yan ng PAL matagal na. Not sure kung paano sila nag book. Kung thru agency or ticket ofc, dapat ni remind sila nyan.
ReplyDeleteKung agency dapat may reminder na print out yan.
DeletePinag aralan ko just now what’s on PAL’s website. Medyo nakakalito. For Ph passport holders, exempted if may b1/b2 visa
ReplyDeleteYes. Visa lang need mo. eTA are for those citizens of another country na visa free pag nagtravel sa Canada like Aussies, Japanese, Koreans and members of Commonwealth.
DeleteAng weird naman that you need a visa even for a layover. Di ka naman lumabas ng airport.
ReplyDeleteeta is not a visa
DeletePag PH passport holder, kelangan ng transit visa if ang layover mo is sa US.
DeleteThat's why you have to check your lay overs kahit saglit lang kayo dun. If anong documents ang kailangan and if you need a visa or anong patakaran sa bansang un. Iba iba kasi talaga
ReplyDeleteIf you don't have Canadian visa need eta talaga,, even just transit
ReplyDeleteThis is new. Sayang talaga pamasahe.

ReplyDeleteI'm Primo's number 1 fan! Just saying.
ReplyDeletekasalanan yan nung booking agent nila. they should know ung requirements sa mga stop over countries. 🤣🤣🤣

ReplyDeleteETA IS NOT VISA. THAT'S THE REASON THEY DID NOT ASK YOU TO PRESENT ONE.
DeleteDid I MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT A VISA??? If I read Drew's post correctly, they had a 2 hour layover in Vancouver. And since his wife and mother in law are australian citizens, maybe they are required to get an eTA #Chill #KnowItAll
