For each one of us, we think our skin is normal but in reality, there are several skin types and it is important where your skin falls so that you will know exactly how to take care of it. Not knowing your skin type is the number one source of problematic skin let me help you determine your skin type with these basic steps:
- Wash your face – wash your face gently but thoroughly with water.
- Wait for a while – at least wait for an hour for the skin to settle, avoid touching it by this time.
- Dab your face with a clean cloth or tissue – pay attention to the T-zone area—your forehead, nose and chin.
After these steps, you will be able to check your skin type.
- Normal Skin – if there’s no oil showing in the clean cloth or tissue, your skin has proper balance of water and lipids.
- Oily Skin – if grease is present on the tissue, it could be caused by overactive skin glands secreting excess lipids which might worsen due to stress, heat or humidity.
- Dry Skin – if after wiping the skin you feel a taut or there’s a show of flakes plus red patches with itchiness or irritation then the skin is in need of moisturizing.
- Combination – this is the most common skin type. Due to genetic factors or hormone levels, the amount of lipids produced by the skin cells may vary causing uneven distribution of balance on the skin.
- Sensitive – this type can show redness on the skin, irritation and discomfort. If your skin falls under this type, make sure to visit your dermatologist to have it checked.
But whatever skin type you have, cleansing, moisturizing and proper protection of the skin is important. Not to mention that everyone needs their daily dose of Vitamin E.
Vitamin E aids in repairing damaged skin cells. It also helps maintain the skin’s radiance and healthy glow. Aside from that, it also helps in maintaining the functions of blood vessels, brain and nervous system. It strengthens the immune system and promotes good eyesight. Lastly, it helps in preventing cancer, heart disease and stroke.
It’s very simple to achieve pretty skin, especially now that it is easier to find Vitamin E supplements. You just have to make sure that you get at least 400IU of Vitamin E everyday in order to assure body and skin protection from the harmful effects of free radicals that can damage skin cells. I have been trying a Vitamin E supplement called Vita-E and I got nothing but amazing results! If you can get your hands on Vita-E all you need to do now is focus on the amount of rest you get and the food you take everyday.
