Her Crazy Response

As a general guideline, questions for interviews need to be submitted ahead to the resource person so that he/she could prepare his/her answers. This rule is even stricter for certain celebrities who need to be interviewed to clarify issues or to promote their events. So many times, celebrities are caught unprepared whenever they are thrown questions that are sensitive to them. Hence, screening allows the celebrities to determine the questions they would answer and those that they would rather not. More importantly, early review of the questions would prevent celebrities from making foolish responses.

Prior to the interview, Versatile Talent (VT) prepared for the show and was briefed that her guest would be Network Actress (NA). As she is already familiar with the guidelines, VT knew that NA was shown the questions to be asked, and the questions were cleared by her camp. Known for competence and spontaneity, VT made the interview flow as naturally as possible even if she was sensing that the answers of NA were not hitting the mark. Even if VT were using Filipino to ask some questions, NA would respond in English, which VT realized did not match the expected answer.

Then, when VT raised one question, NA paused for a second and replied with sarcasm, which did not fit the question at all. Quick-witted, VT salvaged the moment and rephrased the question so as not to antagonize NA. While the attitude of NA was uncalled for, VT kept her cool as cameras rolled. She gave NA time to plug her event, and the interview ended.

At the backstage, the mild-mannered and well-bred VT was heard cursing while talking with a production head. VT said that she was very disappointed at the way NA attempted to block her and the arrogance the actress projected even if her answers were all shallow and lame.

This incident is not really a first for NA, as she also kept another host and the viewers puzzled at her responses. In her attempts to use a foreign language, the answers she perhaps wanted to convey were incoherent. Thanks to competent and serious hosts, NA is not subjected to playtime, as other hosts might do to her once she gives an off-mark response. In her attempt to be impressive, NA is turning out the opposite.
