Di ko gets bakit may haters si mam charo. Ang ganda kaya ng first movie niya last year with john lloyd. It was even better than Ma Rosa (a typical poverty porn Brillante Mendoza flick). Saka maraming nakakalimot dito na favorite siya dati ni Mike De Leon who made some of the greatest films in Philippine cinema.
Ang ayaw ko sa mga movies ni Lav: they're not less than 4 hours, black and white, and no close up shots. I like Charo as an actress though. But ayaw ko Ang pa genius effect ni Lav. Puede naman gawing 2 hours Lang eh.
Yun na nga ang point sa films niya, long takes na walang interruptions. Kung gusto mo mabilis na pacing at may action/suspense kada scene, Lav Diaz's films aren't for you. And that's okay. But no need to trash his filmmaking just because hindi mo na-appreciate ang style niya.
3:23 i agree, ang haba na black and white pa, tapos yung last 2 movies niya laging may hinahanap yung mga bida. sila gregoria hinahanap si bonifacio, si sid lucero kayamanan sa ilalim ng puno, si charo hinahanap nawawala niyang anak tapos in the end nababaliw lang sila kakahanap di naman natatagpuan. So frustrating! This time i don't know parang ayoko na panoorin.
