Arrogant Boy

Between numbers of a recently staged musical event, the audience was asked to cheer for certain performers. The instruction obviously aimed to identify the composition of the viewers that night. Fan groups trooped to the venue, but the production wanted an idea of the groups that were present.

Part of the act was the love triangle among Rejuvenated Actress (RA), Confident Performer (CP), and Appealing Discovery (AD). The toss-up was between CP and AD. Although both are new in the business, CP has the edge, as he started his exposure with the network earlier than AD. In such a short time, CP has managed to break away from group performances and stand on his own. He has even appeared in hit movies as well. By contrast, AD started later and his onscreen rivalry with CP started when he was given a recent break.

When RA and CP performed, fans showed appreciation with their screams and applause. After the number, CP took the microphone and asked the audience how many were for his character ending up RA’s character. The audience cheered, and CP smiled with confidence. However, he asked the same audience set who liked AD’s character for RA’s character. The cheers were louder than the ones CP heard for his role. He asked again and the audience was consistent with the loud response for AD.

CP seemed surprise, as in the storyline, his character ends up with RA’s character. He expected that the reel loveteam would resonate among the loyal followers of their project. RA, meanwhile, kept her composure, but it was obvious that both of them did not expect the reaction of the audience. Despite the lower energy shown for him, CP continued with his performance with RA, as if he was the one who received the louder cheers.

When AD joined CP and RA onstage to perform, his presence validated the fear of CP: AD had louder claps and screams. CP tried his antics to be closer to RA, but the audience did not buy it. CP has hordes of fans, but they were obviously fewer that night. If his fans are not around often in his gigs, then CP’s handlers should rethink ways for him not to be overshadowed by younger and cuter talents. Incidentally, CP indeed has a problem with the way he projects himself. Allegedly, he can really be overconfident in the way he conducts himself.
