business ang magazines. of course youre going to put people na makakabenta sa cover. yung mag models and fashion people, ilagay mo sa loob ng magazine.
Fashion magazine kasi yan.
Business is business. They need to earn. Now if you prefer a different way of doing things, put out your own fashion mag. As it is, hirap na ang print media kumita given the advent of the digital age. You do what you do to survive. You don't like what you see, then go be the change you want to see and stop asking it from others.
Hello, Jake? Where have you been? Of course they need to sell. More copies, more revenue. It is what it is. Wala ka magagawa. Business is business eh. To hell with fashion influencers, aanhin yan ng mags eh wala naman fans yan.
Now mo lang narealize yan? Dont get me wrong, im with you on this, but its 2017.
Well those people who could sell magazines do influence fashion because of their popularity. They connect to the target market. Fans/ readers follow what famous people wear.
at the end of the day, magazines are there for business and advertisers. If you want Jake, set up your own publication and see how you run it para naintindihan mo
i took a look at his ig, parang trying hard na pa-hipster, yung usual style ng pa-cool na millenials.
Tsaka what do you expect sa Pilipinas, majority ng bumibili ng magazines eh masa...
He has a point, but sad to say magazines are established to make money out of trends and putting bankable stars on the cover makes them a lot of money. He's in the industry, shouldn't he know this by now?
Money talk, obviously pagmaraming fans eh di marami bibili, as if hindi siya artista to begin with, kahit mas maraming model pang magazine eh kung hindi masyado mabenta eh di wla rin.
Because the Philippine market is not a sophisticated one. Kahit jejemon ang cover bibilin yun ng fans hindi ng mga fashionista. e.g would the fans of certain personalities buy Gucci, Prada or St. Laurent? Those brands advertise in those magazines. So in the end yung publishing house lang ang nakikinabang. That's why I hardly buy local mags anymore, so jeje..
he's right.
the statement tho is correct.
Deletebusiness ang magazines. of course youre going to put people na makakabenta sa cover. yung mag models and fashion people, ilagay mo sa loob ng magazine.

Fashion magazine kasi yan. They can feature celebs naman to grace the cover pero ang problem dito sa Pinas ay puro celebs na talaga.
DeleteTrue.
Delete6:19

ReplyDeletejake before you comment make sure na maganda ang taste mo sa fashion kasi yang buhok mo mukhang mabaho eh imho...
ReplyDeleteBusiness is business. They need to earn. Now if you prefer a different way of doing things, put out your own fashion mag. ReplyDeleteTrue, everything is evolving at a fast pace.
DeleteTruth na truth yan Anon 12:23, print media is having a hard time keeping afloat. They gotta do what they gotta do to survive.

ReplyDeleteHello, Jake? Where have you been? Of course they need to sell. More copies, more revenue. It is what it is. Wala ka magagawa. Business is business eh. To hell with fashion influencers, aanhin yan ng mags eh wala naman fans yan.
ReplyDeleteBut would Prada want to advertise in Magazines na ang market ay jejemons? No di ba?
DeleteMega Magazine dislikes this. Lol

Deleteuy uy! kilala ko na pinapatamaan nito hahaha! ganun talaga jake...kasehodang questionable ang looks ng nasa cover basta bottomline bumenta. it's all about money dear boy. hahahaha
ReplyDeleteSino bhes haha
Deletenaman classmate 12:38 eh di yung chaka + mabenta + zero talent eh di yun na! ano bah??

Na-utilize na din naman na yata lahat sa fashion kaya resort na lang to what sells... kababawan at vanity. Yan ang generation ngayon. Yan ang finifeed sa kabataan. Kaya karamihan sa kanila sabaw.
ReplyDeleteYou used to be those people. Laos ka na kasi. Wala naman kadi talaga career and models dito. We're not a fashion country, we're a jeje country
ReplyDeleteDear Jake, if it weren't for this kind of mentality - if we had a pure meritocracy - you and a lot of your colleagues will be jobless :)
ReplyDeleteLol best comment
He's hoping to get a cover too ( which he used to )
ReplyDeleteOn top my head, Jolina Magdangal. I hope that answers your question. Headband pa more! Kulerete pa more! Chuvachuchu!
DeleteAgree 2:50 especially during her prime.
DeleteButterfly sa hair lol
DeleteYou had your time. Huwag bitter
ReplyDeletesino pinariringan nya, yon mga co-label artist nya? halos lahat ng may cover ngayon taga abs/SM. Kahit sino naman pwdeng ifeature basta kilala ka, matagal na yon ganyan kalakaran kasi clothes, fashion magz and celebrities may correlation talaga.
ReplyDeleteI think yung content yung pinaglalaban, kasi naging for the pics nalang purpose ng magazine imbis na entertainment.
ReplyDeletemanong jake, cno gusto mo ilagay, yung ex mo?
ReplyDeleteHe should've specified which mags because there are diff types that have diff niche.
ReplyDeletedi rin. pare-pareho lang, same ppl din kinukuha for their covers.
Delete1:43, exactly. You're looking at the wrong magazine, baby boy.
DeleteWell those people who could sell magazines do influence fashion because of their popularity. They connect to the target market. Fans/ readers follow what famous people wear.
ReplyDeleteFor once, I agree with Jake.
ReplyDeleteWhat he said is true.
Everything is online now, why buy the paper version
ReplyDeleteat the end of the day, magazines are there for business and advertisers. If you want Jake, set up your own publication and see how you run it para naintindihan mo
ReplyDeleteTotoo naman ang sinabi ni Jake..
ReplyDeletetbh this guy is fashionable lumaki ata to sa spain. Aminin mga fantard di casual mag suot to.
Deleteeverything is business
Tsaka what do you expect sa Pilipinas, majority ng bumibili ng magazines eh masa...
ReplyDeleteMedyo pretentious coming from a mainstream actor pero totoo naman.
ReplyDeletesinagot mo na tanong mo 'they put people who would sell'
ReplyDeleteHe has a point, but sad to say magazines are established to make money out of trends and putting bankable stars on the cover makes them a lot of money. He's in the industry, shouldn't he know this by now?
ReplyDeleteMoney talk, obviously pagmaraming fans eh di marami bibili, as if hindi siya artista to begin with, kahit mas maraming model pang magazine eh kung hindi masyado mabenta eh di wla rin.
ReplyDeleteBut if he were the one in the cover he wouldn't be complaining.
ReplyDeleteWhat fashion? In pinas they are copied from abroad anyway.
ReplyDeleteBecause the Philippine market is not a sophisticated one. Kahit jejemon ang cover bibilin yun ng fans hindi ng mga fashionista. e.g would the fans of certain personalities buy Gucci, Prada or St. Laurent? Those brands advertise in those magazines.
