People who have medium to dark skintone have the freedom to lighten it as long as those products are dermatologically-tested. They believe their confidence will boost, want their skintone to be even, want to look younger, & also agree that any color will suit them. On the other hand, people born with light skincolor desires to darken it a little bit to stay under the sun for a long time.
I prefer those ads who use model/s with an appearance that most viewers can relate to. For example in a makeup, why would they chose a model who is naturally drop dead gorgeous even if they wear rugs, they will still standout?

Yung iba nga dito na nagco-comment eh kung makabash sa morena na celebs saying they're looking dugyot like Lovi Poe, Rochelle Pangilinan, etc. Palagi ako nakakabasa ng ganon na comment anout their skin color.

Pero yung pakialaman mo ang gusto ng iba na para bang you're imposing na bawal magpaputi ang maitim eh mali na. Napaka self righteous. Wala kang pake girl. ReplyDeleteIf people choose to whiten their skin, it doesn't necessarily mean they love themselves less or they are not appreciative of what they have been blessed with. You should see it the other way around. They love themselves enough that they do whatever "they believe" will make them feel better. And what they believe is best for them is none of our business. If whitening their skin will boost their confidence and make them achieve greater things in life, then who are we to question them?
Your love for your skin tone does not give you or anyone the permission to impose the same to others.

ReplyDeleteKasi accepted naman sa rich countries ang maitim, morena skin and considered beautiful kaya walang nag rereact dito na mga pacool, pa american, kung mag pa tan man ang mga mestiza, fil-am, etc. Pero, aminin mo naman, na pag maitim dito or morena at walang kaugnayan sa america, not fil-am, poorita, etc e dugyot, katulong, levels ang tingin ng iba. In short, the Philippine and Filipino context e iba kaya di rin makatuwiran ang kinukuda mo.

DeleteIkaw kaya ang sabihan ng "Ulikba" or "Maputi lang kaya maganda!" hindi ba parehong masakit. Itigil na ang baliktaktakan tungkol sa skin color. Makuntento at tanggapin kung ano meron tayo. Kung gustong pumuti or magpa-tan eh gora, choice nila kaya wala tayong pakialam. Be happy!
ReplyDeletePeople who have medium to dark skintone have the freedom to lighten it as long as those products are dermatologically-tested. They believe their confidence will boost, want their skintone to be even, want to look younger, & also agree that any color will suit them. On the other hand, people born with light skincolor desires to darken it a little bit to stay under the sun for a long time.
ReplyDeleteI prefer those ads who use model/s with an appearance that most viewers can relate to. For example in a makeup, why would they chose a model who is naturally drop dead gorgeous even if they wear rugs, they will still standout?
Can't people do what they want without being judged? If one wants to be light/fair or radiant/tan then, goooo. And no, don't use the phrase "nothing against" because clearly, you do have issues with it.

Kung gusto mong pumuti dahil feeling mo dun ka maganda kahit di naman, e di ba discrimination yan, dahil hindi dahil maputi lang e maganda na. Yan kasi ang mga insecure na gustong pumuti kesehoda.
