Media network ABS-CBN on Wednesday released a statement on the sexual assault case against one of its talents, Noven Belleza.
The network said Noven posted bail today in connection with the charge filed at the Regional Trial Court of Cebu City.
"Noven asserts that he did not commit the crime charged and he will prove his innocence in the course of the legal proceedings," the network further states.
Belleza, the first champion of "Tawag ng Tanghalan," the hit singing contest of variety show "It's Showtime," was reportedly arrested last Sunday, July 16, in Cebu after he performed in Vice Ganda's concert, for the alleged rape of a fellow contestant in a condo in Lahug a day before the concert in Mabolo, Cebu City.
Belleza and the victim were said to be friends and "text mates" before the incident happened.
From rape, the Cebu City RTC has lowered the case to sexual assault.
Before becoming an ABS-CBN recording star for winning the contest, the 22-year-old Belleza was a farmer in Negros Occidental.

Ng text si Noven sa girl na samahan mamasyal dahil hindi siya kabisado sa lugar nagkusang loob na nga yung biktima siya pa na agrabyado. Ito namang si Noven sa dinami dami ba naman ng mga contender sa TNT from Cebu ito pa talaga ang pinili niya na samahan siya choosy din yung maganda talaga ang gusto isama. Feeling ko may gusto tung si Noven sa biktima. Maganda naman kasi. Tapos ng take advantage na nung araw na yun dahil kasama na niya yung girl. Akala cguro ni Noven bibigay yung girl.
