With Liza Soberano confirmed as Darna in the movie directed by Erik Matti for Star Cinema, the guessing game has shifted to who her leading man will be, with several names mentioned as “most likely.” It was The STAR that broke the big story about Liza’s bagging the coveted role that has been played by more than a dozen big stars, including Angel Locsin.
According to Funfare’s DPA, as of the moment (no last-minute changes, hopefully, knock on wood!), tapped to play Liza’s leading man is none other than her screen (and soon-to-be real-life?) sweetheart Enrique Gil. This piece of “breaking news” should belie rumors that the LizQuen tandem would be temporarily broken up while another actor would be Liza’s Darna partner.

It will also prove her detractors wrong that without Enrique she can still succeed . I am a big fan of this couple, as much as I want them to be together all the time, I care more on their growth as actors because they also need versatility and flexibility. They can work together again someday but this time, I would rather see them shine and grow individually.

ReplyDeleteSa totoo lang kapag kasi iba ang pinartner kay Liza sigurado yun na ang tatatak sa karamihan,lalo na malakas humatak ng masa yang Darna...pero maari rin na after ng Darna masyado ng sisikat si Liza yung tipong hindi na nya kailangan ng loveteam, o kaya kahit kanino na sya i-pair swak sa manonood...kaya ang suma total maiiwan si Enrique...at yun ang ayaw mangyari ng management.

ReplyDeleteMay leading man ba talaga si Darna based sa original na sulat ni Mars Ravelo? Kung wala, dapat di na ipilit. Si Ding, na kapatid ni Darna, ang kasama sa komiks. Iconic character, gagawing LT, hay.

DeleteI would love to see another leading man for Liza in Darna. I just don't think bagay kay Enrique. Don't get me wrong, I like LizQuen. But for this project, I think a more manly leading man is more suitable. Just my two cents.

ReplyDeleteand not Lizquen... due to the love team fans' demand and for the movie outfit's primary concern to please and top the fans' box office power... has been offered to do a movie just like any other loveteam movie and one of it happens to be Darna
kung ako sa management tigilan na nila ang loveteam loveteam ni darna at ifocus na lang ang training ni liza. kailangan laging magkasama baka naman pag nakapasok si liza sa fhm dapat magkasama sila pa din ni enrique. lol. disappointing news.
ReplyDeleteNakakawala ng excitement tong balitang to... Mas ok kung paghiwalayin muna sila, dito kasi magshashine si Liza, mas makikita natin siya as a strong heroine. Utang na loob wag nyo lalagyan ng pabebe scenes yung Darna..
ReplyDeleteProb, takot ang ABS na maiwan bigla c Enrique pag pumatok c Liza as independent artist w/out labteam. Sna wag lang mahbnag exposure kundi labteam movie ang labas nito at mao-over shadow ang Darna.

ReplyDeleteBut it's philstar Ricky lo who wrote it in his column, he's the one who also leaked Liza officially being darna and a week later SC confirmed it. He's a credible source.
