Maybe hindi nga nya kinopya from the artist talaga pero definitely nakita nya toh somewhere probably sa net then ginawa nyang inspiration. Lol i believe kinopya pa din nya dahil same na same eh except for the materials
3:18 "ideas" technically, no. but works of art, yes. . so yes sculptures can be copyrighted. Read Intellectual Property.
"Copyright covers literary works (such as novels, poems and plays), films, music, artistic works (e.g., drawings, paintings, photographs and sculptures) and architectural design. Rights related to copyright include those of performing artists in their performances, producers of phonograms in their recordings, and broadcasters in their radio and television programs."
yeah you should Read the Law 3:18. there is such thing as intelectual property rights. IP refers to the "creation of the mind" like inventions or ... art.
Hmmm posible nga namang naisipan nila pareho yung concept. Who knows, as if naman magsasabi sya ng totoo of ever.
kelan kaya ginawa yung sculpture nung foreign artist... matagal na kaya or recently lang...
kasi yung kay ferdinand cacnio he made exact design but a smaller one, the usual size he use for commercial art sale, parang pang display... back in 2007 which he exhibited also in UP, during when napansin ng UP and lately kinomission to Cacnio to create a big one.
ferdi already list pic of that gallery exhibit with the original design (original but different size) taken back in 2007
based on the above facebook post by the husband, his wife,Elisabet made the concept in 2001.so mas nauna tlaga cya.grabe ung similarities nung design pero i still have my respect for Cacnio.hndi rin mtatawaran ung contribution nya sa arts.
Thom Puckey's posts has been taken down as of yesterday. In fact, his Facebook account is now private. It appears that he is backing away from his claim of plagiarism. Unfortunately, screenshots of his posts are still around and being used to keep his claim afloat.
Para magmukhang weightless ang isang bagay like in this case, babae, talagang hair ang maiisip na gawing support to make her look weightless. At ang idea ng weightlessness does not sound very original. I bet the artist from Netherlands was also inspired by something else. Ako nga, kakanood lang ng natgeo feature about weightlessness ng astronauts sa outerspace and was inspired to make a piece that looks weightless.
Good thing the UP community condemns the guy for his blatant plagiarism (except for his family and friends). The university admin should do right by removing the sculpture and imposing penalty on the artist.
billions of people on earth for thousands of years...the idea is simple enough to have been thought of by hundreds of thousands if people throughout time, across continents 🙄
if you research makikita nyo na ung idea is hindi talaga dun kay silenstra. search nyo floating woman sculpture, marami na nuong unang panahon pa may gumawa na nyan. kaya nga ni private na nung asawa na si thom puckey ung fb nya at wala na ung post dahil alam nyang hindi naman original ung sculpture ng asawa nya. kaya guys wag maging judgemental, nagkataon lang na same idea sila.
weh! wag magdeny! dont tell a lie....aminin!
ReplyDeleteWhat a waste!!!

DeleteTrue.
Ever ya pa daw nakita yung work.
ReplyDeleteThe resemblance is striking. It's impossible he hasn't come across her work.

ReplyDeletepero mas maganda ung sa nangopya lol
ReplyDeleteYup. Mas maganda ung nasa UP kesa ung orig.
Deletetrue hehe

Unless same sila ng creativity which is... not.
ReplyDeleteNakakainis yung ganyan.
ReplyDeleteGrabe!!! Parehong-pareho dai!!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm posible nga namang naisipan nila pareho yung concept. Di naman ganun kakumplikado kasi.
ReplyDeletePero posible ring nakita nya na yung image somewhere at "nainspire" dun. Who knows, as if naman magsasabi sya ng totoo of ever.
Get over it.
ReplyDeleteI feel sooooo connected with those pieces of art...
ReplyDeleteThe hair always has to be long as it serves as the hidden base of the sculpture. It's the only way it could work
ReplyDeleteThe artist definitely have seen the original. All that hard work went down the drain because you dared to imitate another artist's creation. tsk tsk
ReplyDeletekelan kaya ginawa yung sculpture nung foreign artist... matagal na kaya or recently lang...

ReplyDeletehindi lang sya sanay sa controversy. But nevertheless, it was obviously plagiarized
DeleteToo many pinoy trolls, that's why. It's plargirism, it's clear.
DeleteElisabet Stienstra's The Virgins of Apeldoorn, a sculpture placed on display in the Netherlands in 2001

ReplyDeleteGoogle it. Madami nga actually sculpture na ganyan.
DeleteGood thing the UP community condemns the guy for his blatant plagiarism (except for his family and friends). The university admin should do right by removing the sculpture and imposing penalty on the artist.
ReplyDeleteyes , nahalata ang plagiarism .I feel sorry for Cacnio, because I admire his other works.
Tsk!
ReplyDeletebillions of people on earth for thousands of years...the idea is simple enough to have been thought of by hundreds of thousands if people throughout time, across continents 🙄
ReplyDeletebut you can't deny, they are almost identical except for the skirt.
What year?
ReplyDeleteAgree. Dami nang nakaisip ng ganyan.
DeleteGaya-gaya puto maya.
ReplyDeletePero how would we know kung ginaya or hindi? I agree with 10:50PM.
