This is the literal Tagalog translation of her caption.
"Kamusta, Linggo!" "Ano'ng nasa itaas?" "Yung araw." "Yun, and nasa itaas."
It's her attempt to be witty lang naman, while trying to be cute for her followers, and in the photo.
In a way, her actual caption (in English) can be funny to some, and maybe corny to others. The basher's comment is unnecessary, and was obviously baiting for a negative reaction to incite controversy.
Lakas ng loob mang bash muna no?
What's up in Tagalog is anong bago or ano na based from her premise. Pag ano ang nasa itaas, it should be what's up there. Ano ba kayo? Wag ipilit na tama kung mali. Kahit na I-translate niyo pa.
Anon 8:16PM, i think you should go back to school. Her mistakes in her instagram post are acceptable for an instagram post... mainly mistakes in punctuation and capitalisation, pero tama ang syntax... the use of "that's what" is correct.
sige nga po, pakiexplain ang "the sun is that's what". diba po mga classy po ang fans ni heart like her who can understand her english grammar, share the knowledge please.
1:17 Pacute kasi si Heart. Kasi whats up is like hi or hello lang diba. Pero since sabi nya "Hey Sunday, whats up?" So literal ang sagot nya na "the sun is, that's what." (Is up) hahahaha arte kasi.
Sinagot niya literally yung "Hey Sunday, whats up?" -- "the SUN is, thats what." In tagalog, "Uy Sunday, ano yung nasa taas?" "Yung araw, yun yon."
Hirap kasi kay missy, di sakanya naituro ang uses of punctuation marks para napull off niya yung "witty joke" niya according to her fans.
2:26 hindi ba pag sinabing "what's up?" In tagalog, "Anong meron?" or another translation in english would be What's happening? So mali yung pagka tanslate mo ng tagalog sa "what's up" baks
2:26 her caption is about sun but she poses wearing long sleeves and long dress.
Hahahaha. Inunawa lang namin ang fail attempt of a witty comment nya, it doesnt mean na fan kami. Nakakainsulto kayo ah! Hahahahaha.

Excuse me! Heart is born alta and very classy and elegant so kahit hirap magconstruct ng grammar, atlit she's trying her best to sustain look like alta, classy and elegant.
yung caption nyang nkakaloka..hey sunday, the sun is,that's what..okay sana if wrong type e pero ewan.ano pa nga ba pag galing kay heart pointless as always
Isn't it a play on the expression "what's up?" which is colloquially used to ask what's going on, pero she made a slight play on it by taking it literally and saying that the sun is up hence the shades? It's not the wittiest but also not one of the hardest to understand.
True. Yung iba kasi parang matic na yung pambabash e. Like hello, its not a very complicated caption. Pag basher talaga, damn if you do, damn if you dont.
I don't like her either, but what she posted was a play with words. Mahirap talaga magets if uunahin niyo ang pagiging negative or looking to find fault in everything she writes. Learn to read with comprehension and furthermore, read a lot of books, be aware of how sentences are constructed, phrases and slangs being used then research instead of just relying on social media. Pero guys, especially the young ones who I suspect are mostly the bashers here-read,read,read! And go to school! Malawak ang English language like any other languages.
The point is her grammar is wrong.
I am no tard of anyone.. I'm simply expressing how I understand the caption. I am an avid reader here and interacting to everybody. Being a tard to a station or certain artist will just limit your choices and cloud your judgement. It's not healthy.
2.32 there is nothing wrong with her grammar. Its a play on the word "up". While the expression "what's up" generally means anong meron, she used the word "up" literally to refer to the sun, hence, the sunglasses. It is an attempt at being witty. Hindi man siguro benta yung joke niya, still, there are no grammatical errors in her post. I hope bashers loosen up a bit before jumping the gun.
Anon 2:30, So bawal palang gumamit ng capitalization and spaces sa Instagram? Di mo alam kung the period was really a period, or if it was a typo and period ang nilagay instead of a space. Yung emoji na ginamit, grey na sun which implies overcast weather (makulimlim). It took me several tries before ko na gets what she meant.
ano ba kayo?ako ngang 46 yrs old nakuha ko ibig sabihin, hey sunday what's up?the sun is,that's what! kasimple pahirapan pa sarili or sadya lng para may pang bash?naartehan din ako kay heart pero ilagay sa lugar ang pagbash...
1:15 woooh nagmamayabang si ate oh, sabi niya the SHADE is, hindi the SUN is.
So still nasa taas pa din.
Hehe! Heart nman kase, wag mag google ng captions, majirap hulaan minsan pag chop chop at kung anek anek.
Hey sunday! What's up? The sun is, that's what. Tama naman, what's up daw, so ang sun ang nasa taas. Charot! Awkward lang talaga ng "that's what" Pero of course kinopya niya yang caption na yan somewhere
Actually di na ako nagulat. Nakakaawa na sya. She's not living her own life. Hahay!
To be strict about it, the "is" should be present. However, it is colloquially acceptable without. But for someone particular about grammar, the "is" is mandatory.
Maybe it's not the caption but the emoji that makes it confusing. I didn't read it as the "sun" is up. I thought she was saying the "shade" is up. Nagbago na ba hitsura ng sun emoji? Isnt it supposed to be yellow?
Sa IOS yellow yung sun. Baka yung nag screen capture naka android or something.
Nothing wrong with her caption at all. Dami Lang haters. That's what is not confusing. Di Lang siguro sanay yung iba sa slang. The English language is ever evolving.
True. Eto ang sun emoji 🌞 Eto ang ginamit niyang emoji ⚫ - black shade. So she was referring to her shade and not the sun.
So tama naman na "whats UP?"
Not sure if this caption was edited but naiintindihan naman yung context, even if there's no space after that period. I think this was meant to be a joke, yun nga lang corny na joke. By the way, I am not a fan of heart (and never will be 'cos I find her superficial).
Hanggat pinagpapapansin niyo siya she'll be relevant.
Oh well.
Bashers come on. I am not a fan of Heart but I understand what she is saying. There is nothing wrong with her statement. You just want to pull her down. Unless you guys do not really understand English which I seriously doubt.
crab mentality ang pinoy. its s*#ks......feeling magaling hindi nmn nakakatulong sa pag angat ng economy. kung marunong kayo at makikialam. why not use it to help other people for free and praise them instead shaming them. kakapal...
naku make sure she didn't post this before.haha
ReplyDeleteWell actually she posted this on her style account then deleted it recently

Deletebwahahahaha so classy & elegant lol
DeleteThanks 2:05 sa pag explain. Di ko talaga nagets ung caption. Btw, Ishdatchu hearte? :)
Delete2:26 -- Just because you have poor reading comprehension eh mali na agad ang grammar.
DeleteIf you are to really analyze what she wrote. May mali talaga. She could just have stopped at The Sun is. Dinugtungan pa naman kasi ng that's what.
Deleteanon 11:30am? so mali para sayo ang that's what? o di mo lang talaga maintindihan, kaya para sayo mali?
DeleteAnon 1130. Bakit niyo ba pinipilit na may mali? Tama yan. Just because it's not a familiar expression to you doesn't mean it's wrong.

Delete2:26 epic fail ang trying to be witty. Wala namang sense ang sinabi niya.

ReplyDeleteBashers come on. I am not a fan of Heart but I understand what she is saying. There is nothing wrong with her statement. You just want to pull her down. Unless you guys do not really understand English which I seriously doubt.
ReplyDeleteEdited na po yan para maintindihan na ng mga tao pero before walang comma after "the sun is up"! Dahil sa unang caption nya nakakalito talaga.
DeleteTama naman yung caption.
ReplyDeleteWhat's up? The sun is, that's what.
Hala hinay-hinay. You might just end up embarrassing yourselves trying to "correct" someone else's grammar. :)
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of Heart, but I got her joke.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't a joke. Tough luck, girl. I'm not a fan too but I sure got her monologue.
DeleteUmmm it was not a joke .. but yea her English is fine in this particular post
DeleteShe was missing a punctuation.
ReplyDeletecrab mentality ang pinoy. its s*#ks......feeling magaling hindi nmn nakakatulong sa pag angat ng economy. kung marunong kayo at makikialam. why not use it to help other people for free and praise them instead shaming them. kakapal...
Deleteeh lahat naman pala ng tao sa IG matatalino, bakit hindi nila nagets agad? that's just a proof na mas gugustuhin pa ng mga tao maging nega, pakialamera, bastos at mean para lang manakit at manlait ng ibang tao. haaaay...
Deletetagging d&g is so desperate and pathetic obviously para mapansin and mapost, and mag "oh wow" pag nirepost
