Given that SP has devoted most of her adult life to showbiz, this time, she has decided to take it easy in her showbiz commitments, but a project of two would not hurt her pursuit of other interests. Thus, with more time for her other commitments, SP could not manage to go to places where people of her status should be seen. Hence, she took her staff to a Fast-rising Restaurant (FR) to treat them.
At FR, the staff was excited as well because SP is known to be generous when it comes to giving tips. Thus, the assigned servers were already teased that they would be receiving a huge amount of tip, and that they should, in turn, treat their co-workers to a round of drinks. SP was accorded the best service and served food that the staff made sure to be of the highest quality. The staff at FR was attentive and anticipated the needs of SP and her group. In short, SP was treated like a queen, which was the treatment she often received from the men in her life.
After SP and her entourage left, the waiters excitedly anticipated the huge tip. Thus, when they opened the bill folder, they were shocked and could not utter a word. The excitement turned to huge disappointment. They tried shaking the bill folder just to wake themselves from the feeling. Nope, that was it. SP and her entourage left a tip, which was only half of a hundred pesos. The two main servers were too insulted, as they had to divide the said amount between them.
While most people thought of rescuing SP from such incident and making crazy excuses, such as she might not have had enough cash then or she only had her credit card, FR could attest that such incident happened not once, but twice. FR treated SP like royalty, and still received the same amount of tip. Thus, the staff could no longer believe that SP was indeed generous to a fault. Despite her successful and lucrative endeavors, SP has transformed into a miser.

Mmmm... G?
ReplyDeleteI don't see a problem with giving mababa tips kasi waiters have salaries naman diba?
DeleteClues point to H.
DeleteSame tayo ng hula, lalo na nung mabasa ko to "Designer clothes and shoes, vacation trips overseas, happy family life, and explorations in fields other than showbiz". Oh well baka naman kase may service charge na. Baka nag eexpect lang talaga yung mga servers kase nga sikat and kilala yung guest nila
DeleteOr is this S?
ReplyDeleteS has no staff
DeleteH - explorations in fields other than showbiz.
ReplyDeleteTransformed into a miser. LOL
H!!! Uwian na!
DeleteH was never known to be generous in tipping. This is K which has something big in common with H. Aside from being Both love crazy
DeleteOmg!
DeleteKung friends kasama malamang si G. Pero staff daw eh so baka si K or S
ReplyDeleteHuh?! Cleaner ka teh
DeleteAnong K or S? Sige row 4 ka baks!
DeleteKayo ang cleaner 12:42 and 3:13. It's K
DeleteIf she's known to give huge tips then there must be something wrong with the service at FR, it being the odd case. Minsan din kasi restaurant staff overdoes it. Yung sobrang attentive na mapapel na. Always there and not giving enough space for privacy and all. It's annoying.
ReplyDeleteThis is so true. Sometimes even when you're in the middle of a conversation a waiter will come and ask how's everything, etc. I find it rude and annoying.
DeleteIt happened twice. I don't think someone would return if the service is bad.
DeleteI know exactly what you mean. Thats true
Delete9:59 correct! We dine bec we are hungry and want some peace and quiet time. Biglang eeksena ang waiter at manager tatanungin ng how's the food ? Or is there anything else that you need? E tatawagin naman sila pag may kailangan.
DeleteAng sikat na social climber sa lahat! Hahahaha G!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo. This is H.
DeleteParehong Mali. This is K.
DeleteS or H?
ReplyDeleteH.
ReplyDeletePero required ba talaga mag tip? They are in a service industry...
ReplyDeleteoo bes, in US nga ang kwenta nila is 15% ng bill mo dito sa atin walang clear rule sa ganyan. saka meron kase service charge kung malaki na yugn service charge d mo na need mag iwan ng malaking tip unless super yaman mo talaga or talagang nasiyahan ka sa service. you have to remember kase na most staff minimum lang kahit sa super eleganteng resto pa sila work
DeleteOf course! Kahit may service charge, we still give tips. 15-20% of total bill
Deleteat 1:34 AM
Delete15-20% that is the standard tip but if there's service charge already that's the same as the tip. optional na lang yung mag iwan ka sa billfolder. imagine if the bill was 10,000 plus tax plus 15%?
It depends on the culture I guess. Japan does not require tipping because service IS part of the job description. No service charge also. Yet still, their service is the best in the world.
Delete1:19 bakit lagi compare agad US? Naging practice lang kaya some felt bound to give a tip. At bakit sasama loob? Walang basis sa sinasabi nyong percentage to give a tip. Prerogative yan ng customer. Ang may computation ay dun sa paano hahatiin ang tip pag meron between the company/management and with employees/staff.
Do they get benefits? Are they on monthly or hourly pay? Where I am, di ko na sasabihin where baka may mag comment na masabi lang kung nasaan, food servers are usually on hourly wage at no benefits. That is why tips are encouraged, 15 - 20%. For groups of 6 sa iba 8 automatic na ang tip, called gratuity, 15-20% depends on the establishment at yan ay naka sulat na sa Menu. On top of the gratuity, nasa customer na if they want to add more tip. Ako, when we dine out I always believe that I tip the service and not the food. Most of the servers here are students, single Moms, struggling artists, aspiring actors, etc. Please be generous and tip your servers. To 2:52 if one eats out and can afford a 10,000 bill I assume that afford na rin nya ang tip. I know a lot of students who work as servers and boy, you should be nice to them really. Baka maduraan ang tubig or food mo. Lol! If you are nice and you are a regular where they work, they will give you something extra on everything, nice extras hindi extra spit. Lol! Believe me that happens to matataray na customers. Remember they are buddies with the Chef and with everyone else in the kitchen.
DeleteIn the US, the servers are paid less than the minimum wage set by the state in anticipation of the tips they will receive from the customers. I find that unfair and annoying for the customers because the restaurant owners expect us, the customers to pay their employees salaries for them.
DeletePlease do not compare the Philippines to any country when it comes to wages. Totally different. I would rather the restaurants pay their employees properly and we the customers pay a little bit more for the dishes than be expected to leave gratuity/tips so their employe makes a decent wage.
DeleteH?
ReplyDeleteShe never had the rep of being generous. She never had that much impact or memorable roles.
DeleteAkala ko si S pero di akma yung clues na lovelife, potential scandal and men in her life. Si H nga yata or G. Dapat gayahin ng mga establishments dyan yung katulad dito na for a group of 8 and more, may automatic gratuity na 15% or even higher depende sa place. Nakalagay na yun sa Menu.
ReplyDeleteParang si S to.
ReplyDeleteHirap naman... Pero kung may service charge naman... Ok na 50 pesos.
ReplyDeletei agree with you
May sweldo kayo to give good service.
ReplyDeleteThe servers were disappointed because they expected too much. If they just carried on without any great expectations or returns for their good service, they would be content to receive the tip left by the customer.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, for large groups, it is prudent to leave 15-20 percent tip for the good service provided to your party. Please don't scrimp on gratuity towards the ones who made it possible for you to have a good dining experience. It also gives them validation and pride that the service they provided was reciprocated monetarily in some way. #peace
Natural lang naman na ibigay yung full service since business yun at yun yung work mo, if ever na magbigay ng tip dapat maging masaya na sya at di na nag expect ng mataas, nag expect kasi msyado porke nakitang artista. Pano kung di artista yung costumer? Di nila pagsisilbihan ng bongga since di magtitip ng malaki? Ganon?
ReplyDeleteThis is K
ReplyDeleteBaka naman nandun sa bill nakasulat yung tip, additional nlng yung 50, ganyan kami ng hubby ko since we use debit card to pay. Pag maganda service ng waiter/ress dinadagdagan namin.
ReplyDeletepeople are expected to do their best at all times because they are getting paid to do just that...going the extra mile is commendable but doing it just for extra pesos is shameful
ReplyDeleteAnsaveh, "Entering showbiz at a young age, SP managed to win the heart of the public because of her impact in the various projects she has spearheaded."
DeleteFR and other resto business should do their best and provide quality regardless of tips or expected tips. Hindi kasi dapat nag-eexpect and paiba iba ang treatment. Raise the reputation of your resto and you will be able to demand higher service fees.
ReplyDeleteS!
ReplyDeleteRead the title several times and you will know who the BI is. 😀
ReplyDeleteK. Yan. No more salary and all money going out to fund her projects to stay relevant
ReplyDeleteDiba si K ito?
ReplyDeleteAy si K ites
