Good thing Sam was safe and unharmed.

Sad to say, pandurukot ang mabilisan nilang ikinabubuhay.

    9. 2:36 Omg. of course she had to go the US Embassy in France otherwise she won't be allowed entry back to the US. Kalurky ka teh!

      Delete
    10. 2:36 maybe anon above is a US resident but not a US citizen. You lose your passport, you lose your visa. Think.

      Delete
    11. Even if you do all the research in the world, and how much aware you are of pickpockets and robbers, you can never be prepared enough. Mangyayari at mangyayari talaga ang mga ganyan. Esp now sa crisis sa buong mundo, and how some people have become "halang ang bituka."

      Delete
    12. 2:36 wow te ha, you make it so obvious that you don't travel at all.
Maybe 12:11 is a US citizen on vacation with a US passport. Syempre kung nawala sa Paris, she has to go to the US embassy to get another one issued so she can go home. Nagcomment ka pa, nakakahiya nman.

      Delete
    13. so promdi of him naman. Parisiennes would be the first to admit grabe pickpocketing sa kanila. common knowledge dun, goes w.o saying.

    15. 236am ang slow, if you lost a passport and you have a US visa stamped on it, syempre mag-apply ka ng bagong visa, magpapaliwanag ka ng todo at swerte ka kung mabigyan ka ng panibago. Malamang kung nakakuha ng French or Schengen visa, may US visa altho it is not always true sa lahat. Gets?

    16. Hello, research will not do you any good. Ang kailangan lang, ingat. But Sam, being an American thinks he is invincible/invisible thus immune from such things...,.

You can never be prepared for such thing, kailangan lang wag masyadong trusting.

      Delete
    17. 2:36 aba malay mo naman US passport holder si 12:11 and he/she was talking about US Embassy na nasa Paris. Hello?

    20. We also had a not so nice experience in paris. We took the metro and when we're about to get off the train, a big black guy blocked our way, right infront of the exit door. He was pretending that he dropped something but we just ignored him and we got off using the other door. Then before the train leaves, while he was standing in the door, he intentionally showed us some watches, bracelets with a naughty smile. But still, Paris is a beautiful city and I will definitely come back if I have the budget again, but i wont take the metro, it's dangerous

    3. You guys clearly don't know how it's like in Rio. Went for a vacation, teenagers would follow you with weapons. I hope Sam's okay though

      Delete
In just a snap mananakawan ka kapag iniwan mong unattended ang gamit mo. Mabibilis daw kamay ng mga kawatan dun. Scary!

      Delete
  4. Poor Sam! Pero marami talaga mandurukot sa Paris. I guess nobody warned him abt that.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Paris is full of snatchers and thieves, just like any other big city. Hope you're able to get one right away from the US embassy there.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Not only in Paris but in other cities in Europe, too. Kaya if you go to a travel forum, frequent travellers often warn about that and offer tips and suggestions. I nearly got victimized by a pickpocket in Lisbon in one of their old trams. Buti nahuli ko agad. Plus my family and I were forewarned kaya we took plenty of precautions. Pero namuntikan pa. Kaya laging listo lang. I'm sure its the same everywhere you go.

    7. ehem 5:12, I'm 3:07 and yes I've been to Paris way back in 1996 and I can say without a doubt that you could just leave your things outside a freakin' cafe. Mind you, Paris back then was clean and very much safe for tourists.

    9. 3:07's experience 20 years ago doesn't make up much how it was safe that time. Don't take your experience as an absolute one for people to say it was safe that time. Even that time nagkalat din sila. I don't care it was '96 your experience don't make up that much about other people's experience

  12. First of all, you don't take the train out of CDG airport to Paris center, Sam. Take the taxi or the express bus. Trains from airports are magnets for thieves not only in France, except Japan of course.

    ReplyDelete

    1. baka naman he wants to experience it for himself? parang kapag foreigners na pumupunta dito sa pinas, gusto nila magjeep kasi gusto nila maexperience. it's not about the type of transportation you take, it's about the people.

    2. I always take the train from CDG to Paris. Never had a problem. Nasa tao yan kung vigilant ka talaga.

    3. Hong Kong and Singapore okay din naman ang trains from airports

    4. CDG to Paris is ok by train. Ngkataon lang talaga kay Sam. It can happen naman talaga anywhere. It is not new news.

      Delete

Yung mga refugees years ago..sila nanghold-up sa kuya ko from work at sa kabarkada nya. Every country mostly mga refugees ang mga magnanakaw but here in europe talaga gypsies talaga or romanians magnanakaw.

    2. totoo yan. sila yang mga nagtitinda peke designer bags na bangketa style. malamang naman ang pickpockets/snatchers from east europeans like here in Scandinavia. lost my old phones 2 times. i was able to trace, 1. from poland 2. iphone 6-lithuania.

      Delete
    3. I'm sorry but over generalizing them is wrong. Some of those are gypsies because that's the way of their lives, stealing. Calling them pampagulo is quite unfair.

      Delete
    4. You're obviously racist & ignorant. Ever heard of gypsies & Eastern European thieves?

      Delete
    5. gypsies=romanians..most of them are notorious in stealing, cars, cellphones, money and robbed the house. Mostly black refugees sila mga nagtitinda sa bangketa and more on trabaho sila kahit maliit ang kita. #realtalk

  15. Maraming manloloko don at marami ding nagpapaloko. Andon kami few years ago at puntahan sana namin ang Louvre Museum pero dahil first time namin mali napuntahan namin sa dami ng halos pare pareho bldg. Inabot sa akin isang ring at napulot daw nya mainit init pa nga dahil summer don that time. I checked the ring may nakalagay na 18k pero white gold sya and thinking na tynay i gave her 10 euro.so iningatan ko ung ring for a year at nong ipinauri ko sa pinas when i went home for a vacay it turned out na peke pala natubog lang sa 18k ung ring. Ala lang. Pero malaki pala ung 10euro na don.

    5. 7:30 mayabang much? It's always been like that. Mas binabalita lang kasi ngayon. At yes dumarami din sila pero don't overstate na paris was "so safe" before when it wasn't. And your experiences don't make up much about other people's experience. You sound like you were just born yesterday. Sad pala kami. Others have been there for a long time but didn't experience that, other have as well. Ganun lang yun

  27. Actually even worse if they got your passport.. how are you going to carry on with your holiday knowing you lost your passport? Your vacay is ruined already. Plus, you have to book an emergency appointment with the embassy but you have to report it to the police station first before they can see you. Sometimes these scums really target your passports especially if west europe, us, canada, oz, etc because gangs sell them for like 5k euro

Public transpo not maintained properly. Dami pang namamalimos. Disappointed also with it being a fashion capital daw. Not fashionable imho. Daig sila ng mga taga Milan. Kahit ordinary people fashionable talaga.

So just like in any place, ingat ingat lang din. Not sure kasi tayo if local or kapwa turista yong mga nanggugulang.

  40. So sorry about his bad experience. Paris is notorious for thieves and snatchers. A lot of them are black. You'll see most of them hanging around Sacre coeur and Eiffel tower. I had the same experience on my first trip to Paris 13 years ago. It happened on my last day in Paris and the 4th day of my European trip. My friend and I were at a restaurant, my purse was just right next to me. When we're going to pay the bill, my purse was open and wallet was gone! Not sure what exactly happened but it was very traumatic. I still have 12 more days to go but I got no money to spend. Good thing I left my passport in my hotel room. I wanted to go back to California but my friend was so kind to let her use her card. Lessons learned: don't be too comfortable, be vigilant of your surroundings and make sure your purse is either in front of you or on your lap.

  44. Always been the case in cities here in Europe. Kami naman sa Italy, sa Pisa. Good thing my husband was vigilant kasi 3 young girls, yung isa may placard for tour of Pisa trying to distract us. Pero na-gets kaagad ni hubby at itinaboy sila. Maski ako nagulat pero good thing na rin or else nabiktima din kami ng pickpockets.

  46. Parang may mali sa kuwento ni Sam. So 3 men TRIED to rob him. They took his passport thinking it was his wallet -- but when they realized it wasn't his wallet, they returned the passport??? Bags? Jewelry? Anything at all?

    1. PICKPOCKETS ang nambiktima sa kanya. So akala siiguro wallet yung passport niya. When they realized it. Binalik nila.

He wasn't mugged. Nadukutan lang. And all of this happened sa train station. So i doubt na kukunin nila lahat ng gamit ni Sam na parang holdapper sa lugar na maraming tao. Haha.

    2. 1:57 - PICKPOCKETS DAW PO, HINDI HOLDAPER. MAGKAIBA NAMAN KASI IYON.

    3. Yeah! I have to say this, yhe place where i am now is a muslim country, but never have i experienced n may nandukot or ngsnatch ng bag ko, we can walk in the street kahit s gabi n walang inaalala n holdaper. Kung meron man, very isolated case lang.

  48. Paris is beautiful. It will always be the City of love regardless of how it has become. A lot of filthy areas such as the train stations, airports na mukhang hindi na pressure wash for decades! Ang dami din pakalat kalat na nagti take advantage sa tourists, pero kahit ganun, it's still the same old Paris sa puso mo lalo if you are there with your partner. Just be a smart traveler. Act like you've been there. Be vigilant if you tour alone though it's always better to go on group tours. Your tour leader would often remind you to be mindful of thieves. Don't get discourage. Just be well informed. Don't engage in a conversation with those ladies with folders. A simple no thank you is enough. Don't make eye contact. There are still good people out there but it never hurts to think of yourself first. There are tours outside of Paris that is 20-30 mins away from the City. Take the opportunity. The Eiffel Tower is only icing on the cake that you have to see in the daytime and when the lights are on. Have no fear. Wear a coat or jacket with invisible inside pockets. You can even DIY it yourself. Whatever makes you feel extra safe so you can enjoy your vacation. Paris will always be a dream place to visit especially for lovers. Pag land mo palang sa lupa ng Paris, it makes your heart flutter! 😄

  50. I had the same experience sa Sacré-Cœur. Nireport ko sa police station which is like 2 blocks away. I bet its the same people who robbed Sam.

  54. Not only sa Paris. Marami rin parts sa Italy na ganyan. Anyone looking to tour Europe and make use of public transpo, secure well your wallet at passport.

  55. Not surprising. Paris is one of the worst sa robberies. Just beause it's a famous city, it doesn't mean na safe sya. Daming nabiktima jan. Parang Quiapo lng ang peg.

  56. The massive entries of refugees from North African Countries and Syria in Europe burglars and petty crimes like robberies are very rampant. Its happening everyday in all parts of Western Europe.
So when anyone of you might have the idea or planning to get a vacation in Europe please make sure of your safety or just spend your money travelling in our native PHilippines or in our neighboring countries..

  57. Kuya dapat inde ka nagtrain from airport papunta sa airport lalo na pag first time mo at may dala ka gamit. Been there, done that. Usually take a cab going to hotel in Paris. Please dont open your maps inside the metro or outside metro they would know na tourist ka. Always go on groups. Sobrang wag naparanoid nako ever since may lasing na bumulong sa tenga ko sa metro! huhu... pero safe sa umaga and paris is still beautiful kahit may ganyan. I miss paris na.. :(
