  2. What school? Why is she wearing her school uniform? Isn't the graduation rites a special enough occasion to warrant a toga?

    2. SMAD ang school.

    3. Well, excuse me 1:04. No need to use that rude tone to insult me for not knowing that such is the usual practice of most schools nowadays. They still could wear a toga over the school uniform if they want the occasion to be more special for the graduate, right? At any rate, yes, I do come from a generation where we wore togas for graduation; and I have been residing outside of the country for more almost 30 years.

It's such a shame that somebody like YOU from a generation of non-toga wearers manage to complete your education and yet be so very rude at addressing a simple inquiry from a stranger. Perhaps your education has not yielded very good results, career wise? Your ill manners certainly confirms that.

    4. Toga is for university graduation or college graduation.

    9. Hindi OA si 1:47, sadyang kala nyo alam nyo na lahat, it's just a simple question hay, pwede namang sagutin ng maayos, hindi kailangang so sarcastic palagi.

    13. Well ang relevance po ng age ay dahil nung 80s and 90s pag graduation nalagoga labat regardless of level. Lahit nga kindergarten nakatoga. Nagiiba lang sa kulay per level.

    14. OA yun 1:04.

Naka toga rin ako nung ang graduate from grade school & high school nung mid to late 80s.

    18. 308 is correct. This has been the practice for so long already in Manila. I graduated from grade school 1987, high school 1991, college 1994.

    21. I think ngayon kasi hindi na siya talaga graduation kundi more of a moving up ceremony. Pagkatapos ng grade 12 dun talaga sila gagraduate ng high school. Hence, the uniform sans the toga. My two cents.

    22. Well, 1:47 was rude too. A response in English does not make it a polite one. It's a tie! Hahaha

    23. medyo OA si 1:47.

  6. In all fairness to 1:47, I also came from generation when we wore toga during our graduation from Nursery, 6th Grade and 4th Year HS. I have kid graduating from Grade 6 next week and I was also appalled that they will no longer wear a Toga on this momentous day. I was never made aware of this til now. But that is now the mandate of DECS, because technically they are not really a "graduate" since there will still be grades 7—10 which are now called Junior HS.

  8. There are still schools that uses toga for Primary and Gradeschool graduation. I'm referring to private schools near my place. I'm not sure bout public schools though, but I guess for private schools it still depends on school discretion
