Well, excuse me 1:04. No need to use that rude tone to insult me for not knowing that such is the usual practice of most schools nowadays. They still could wear a toga over the school uniform if they want the occasion to be more special for the graduate, right? At any rate, yes, I do come from a generation where we wore togas for graduation; and I have been residing outside of the country for more almost 30 years.
It's such a shame that somebody like YOU from a generation of non-toga wearers manage to complete your education and yet be so very rude at addressing a simple inquiry from a stranger. Perhaps your education has not yielded very good results, career wise? Your ill manners certainly confirms that.
wearing white toga for highschool graduation only.. then black for college.. gradeschool grad they just really wear the school uniform. same we had years back..
Naka toga rin ako nung ang graduate from grade school & high school nung mid to late 80s.
I think ngayon kasi hindi na siya talaga graduation kundi more of a moving up ceremony. Pagkatapos ng grade 12 dun talaga sila gagraduate ng high school. Hence, the uniform sans the toga. My two cents.
University nga namin grade school graduation at high school graduation nka uniform p adin... haaay pati ba naman toga pag dedebatehan? Oa ng mga tao munsan! I mean kadalasan!
In all fairness to 1:47, I also came from generation when we wore toga during our graduation from Nursery, 6th Grade and 4th Year HS. I have kid graduating from Grade 6 next week and I was also appalled that they will no longer wear a Toga on this momentous day. I was never made aware of this til now. But that is now the mandate of DECS, because technically they are not really a "graduate" since there will still be grades 7—10 which are now called Junior HS.
3:55 wala ka din pake if she wants to comment kaya nga comment section to eh.
Lizzie, thank you for that useful information. And 3:55 you can be rude as much as you want to because you're anonymous. I do hope you do not carry that very rude behavior when you are dealing with people personally.
There are still schools that uses toga for Primary and Gradeschool graduation. I'm referring to private schools near my place. I'm not sure bout public schools though, but I guess for private schools it still depends on school discretion
Comments suddenly focused on the uniform, toga. Can we focus that this photo depicts a traditional family being together for a milestone of their daughter
Pangkaraniwan lang ang dating nina Pres. Duterte at pamilya.
The owl is a symbol of wisdom and is associated with studious scholars. The Greek goddess of wisdom, Athena, is often shown holding an owl. cool graduation gifts
Love you and your family Tatay Digong! May God bless you with good health and long life!
Bravo 12.46! You nailed it. Pa-humble kuno para matuwa ang sambayanang Pilipino but the truth of the matter is, digong and family are filthy rich. Diba tita sara??
Hellow Kitty!! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteWhat school? Why is she wearing her school uniform? Isn't the graduation rites a special enough occasion to warrant a toga?

Delete308 is correct. This has been the practice for so long already in Manila. I graduated from grade school 1987, high school 1991, college 1994.
DeleteI think ngayon kasi hindi na siya talaga graduation kundi more of a moving up ceremony. Pagkatapos ng grade 12 dun talaga sila gagraduate ng high school. Hence, the uniform sans the toga. My two cents.
DeleteWell, 1:47 was rude too. A response in English does not make it a polite one. It's a tie! Hahaha
ReplyDeleteVery low profile family sila. Congrats to Kitty !
ReplyDeleteThat's why Dutertes are well-loved because of their simplicity.

ReplyDeleteGraduated elem and high school in the 80's. We wore our Gala uniform (white) for graduation.
ReplyDeleteSame here. Gala uniform for both elementary and high school graduation in the 90s.
