A Moment of Deception

In a society where everyone has to learn to wait for his/her turn, some people simply refuse to fall in line and use all sorts of connections to get ahead of everyone else. For example, famous people, such as politicians, actors, officials, and businesspersons, often get prerogative when spotted or sometimes, they do not even bother to line up and just directly go to the manager. Fame or face value could be a factor in being granted privilege to be pulled out of the line and given VIP treatment. For instance, when a seasoned singer was seen lining up at a counter, he was approached by an official and told that he can go to the next window for processing. The said singer politely turned down the offer and waited in line, just like everyone else.

Now, the problem comes when a celebrity is not really that famous, and thus, showing one’s face literally, would not get him/her ahead. Moreover, namedropping is a major no-no, and thus everyone, regardless of wealth, connections, and fame has to wait. While the scenario is ideal, some celebrities would rather test if they could go ahead of everyone else.

Unfortunately, Talented Personality (TP) did not have the patience to stand in line. TP was rushing for a trip and while there was still ample time, she did not want to stand behind others. To get ahead, she had to think of a gimmick to convince people that she was undergoing certain circumstances that should merit her the top place. Thus, she resorted to the most obvious way, which was to ride a wheelchair. As TP was wheeled in, she got ahead and had her papers processed. When others saw TP in a wheelchair, they raised their eyebrows, as they had seen her allegedly feeling better and capable of walking.
