It was a busy night at the 74th annual Golden Globes, with La La Land positively dominating the film awards, Moonlight taking home the award for Best Drama, and Jimmy Fallon somehow proving to be even more bland than Ricky Gervais was last year. ReplyDeleteJimmy Fallon was boring. Na-miss ko tuloy si Ricky Gervais
ReplyDeleteGlad that Tom H. won, but his thank you speech is like "what?!"...
More on "acceptance speech" yata dapat kesa thank you speech
DeleteAng OA mo 3:58. Potato potahto!
DeleteNever heard of "thank you speech"..and the winner is..
DeleteBiggest highlight of the night for me was Meryl Streep's gut- wrenching highly political anti-Trump acceptance speech. I was moved! It was a night of upset wins too with Isabelle Hupert winning over lead contender Natalie Portman (Jackie) for Best Actress - Drama and Casey Affleck's win over sentimental favorite Denzel Washington (Fences) for Best Actor - Drama.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Gut wrenching lie from another liberal actress who thinks she knows what's best for everyone. People are tired of political correctness. And people dont care what these liberal actors say.
DeleteSweetheart 6:52 ang punto lang ni mamang meryl, walang karapatan ang sino man mang humiliate lalo na kung powerless over you. Political correctness mo muk ha mo!
Delete6:52 coming from the right who thinks so highly of himself/herself? And I assume you are from the US kasi you seem to be very much affected.
DeleteTrump isn't the President of the Republicans. And US isn't the country for Republicans. Whether you like it or not, liberals wouldn't be 100% on Trump. Same as when you are not 100% on Obama.
The crown ftw!!
ReplyDeleteEven if it's somewhat bland... it's still a great show compared dito sa atin... and inaabangan naman ng mga tao is the fashion , who's attending, and who's with whom
ReplyDeleteLove Meryl Streep, the lady with a substance.... love loe love the humor and the speech
ReplyDeleteHurray for Claire Foy! I've loved her since Upstairs, Downstairs, and she's brilliant in The Crown!
ReplyDeleteYes may laban n si Emma Stone kay ateng Natalie Portman. go Emma!!!! go Hermionie!!!
ReplyDeleteTe si Hermionie is EMMA WATSON not EMMA STONE! Anon 9:31pm
DeleteGlad that gosling finally got recognized
Deletelol basag si 9.31
DeletePun intended ung comment ni 9:31
DeleteIsabelle winning over Natalie is a surprise given that we don't really see Isabelle hustling to get that Oscar nod. We know she's a good actress, pero campaign-wise tahimik lang sya...as of now. Kaya ang iniisip ng mga tao, Natalie and Emma ang head to head sa laban. Si Emma has been reeeeeaaalllly hustling para ikampanya ang sarili nya since day 1. Halos lahat ata ng importanteng screenings, galas, dinners pinuntahan. Dagdag pa ang kaliwa't kanang interviews and magazine features. Natalie on the other hand, has been gaining momentum lately with that powerful Tom Hanks endorsement at the Palm Springs Film Fest Gala, dagdag na rin ang support na pinakita ni Julia Roberts and Reese Witherspooon.
DeleteSa naging trend in the recent years, mahilig ang Academy na ibigay ang boto sa younger female stars - Jlaw, Lupita, Alicia Vikander, to name some. Plus the fact that critics are saying this is her career best performance, mostly using the words brilliant and excellent to describe her performance. So ang hirap pang i-predict. Personally, I would go for talent and skill over charm and hard work sa pangangampanya. Emma is an okay actress for me, pero never ko kasi syang nakitaan ng brilliant moment worthy to be called an Oscar best actress. Then again, I'm not part of the Academy so good luck na lang sa kanilang dalawa. Basta ako, if not Natalie, I'd go for Isabelle for Oscar best actress.
Lol! Eh magkaibang category sila. Actress for drama si natalie.
Come Oscars, andaming nominees diyan at mga ibang nanalo who won't even be given a nomimation.
Delete@1:55 dami mong sinabi..FYI Emma and Natalie both nominated BUT on a different film category inday...Hilarious.
They were nominated in different categories BUT the real race is the Oscars, where they are predicted to go head tp head on the Best Actress category. Ateng, intindihin kasi anh binabasa.
Delete@9:05 how do you know that they are both nominated on OSCARS ?..OSCARS nominees are to be annouce on Feb 06 pa...hayy ikaw talaga 'day..search kang mabuti ha ?
Delete@9:05 how do you know that they are both nominated on OSCARS ?..OSCARS nominees are to be annouce on Feb 06 pa...hayy ikaw talaga 'day..search kang mabuti ha,hwag magmarunong..hilarious.
Before the crown, Claire Foy was also starring on Upstairs, Downstairs. Tv show din yun sa BBC Pero mga 2012 pa yun.
Deletengeek I meant @9:31 am not 7:14...my bad.
DeleteSabi na nga bang may nakita akong dalawang gwapong naghahahalikan nang papanhik ng stage si Ryan Gosling to pick his award, si Ryan Reynolds at Andrew Garfield pala lol that was hottt!
ReplyDeleteGlobes is not a strong basis for Oscars given that this is HFPA. Kumbaga, these are the kids who love to party and they invite the people they want/people they think are good addition to the party to join them. Mas pang press kasi ang Globes.
ReplyDeleteKorek ka dyan tho may ilang Globes nominees and winners din naman na sumasakto sa Oscar nominees and winners. But yes, Globes loves to reward people who can make a good name/good press for them - not necessarily the best performances.
DeleteDonald Glover for the culture!
ReplyDeleteHappy for Aaron Taylor Johnson, but this is the Globes. I know na hindi naman sya mabibigyan ng Oscars for this role. But okay na rin kasi good press ito for him.
ReplyDeleteJust watch the trailer of Natalie Portman's Jackie (about Jacqueline Kennedy's biopic, widow of JFK) and you will be astonished with her portrayal. An Oscar award is written all over it for she is simply so good malayong-malayo sa role niya bilang Black Widow sa Avengers series.
Sa avengers, she played the character, jane foster, lover ni thor fyi.
DeleteAng ganda na sana nung panimula abt Natalie's performance (to which I agree) pero nakakatawa yung ending. She played Jane sa Thor movies as Thor's love interest.
Delete@9:31 hanga na sana 'ko sa comment mo kala ko matalino ka at malalim...hahahaha biglang bagsak natawa 'ko bigla..she was great on Black swan atleast may "black" ang sinabi mo..lol
Deletengaaaa kala ko "black swan" ang ibig nyang sabihin kaya lang biglang singit nung" Avengers"as black widow...Atleast may "black"...hahahaha
