I love Catriona and she was equally deserving, I was rooting for her to win. Hindi lang siguro nagustuhan yung sagot nya kasi ang first quality na sinabi is bravery, tapos love for arts etc. Baka mas type nila yung something na nasa context ng "beauty with a purpose" like love or compassion, helping others etc. Di nya na masyadong na-explain yung qualities ata, more on about sa torch to illuminate the world eh parang symbolic pa sya.Yung kay Puerto Rico kasi simple lang sagot.But her beauty and wit is really commendable. Hindi lang nagfit sa hinahanap na qualities ng judges. Plus it helped na may Puerto Rican sa panel of judges.hehe Akala ko, PH and Kenya ang maglalaban.
I totally agree with you, last year Lebanon really deserves to win Miss World pero they opted for Spain. I think gusto nila sweeter simple ang Miss World winner nila, nonetheless Congrats Catriona! you did absolutely well! Congrats to Puerto Rico as well! Catriona had the best answer among them, then Kenya. Although yung gown ni Catriona medyo maputla ang kulay. Hindi outstanding. Sana ginawang blood red, royal blue or black. Hindi siya angat tingnan nung magkakatabi silang lima. Si Puerto Rico din ang napansin ko.

Look at Pia during coronation night, napa-wow ang lahat dahil sa see through na likod, body fitting at agaw pansin na royal blue gown. She was really a revelation paglabas ng stage. Gowns and physical appearance help a lot para mapansin, bukod sa sagot na mula sa heart.
Honestly, nung pinili na ang finalists sa top 20, hinahanap ko siya sa full shot nolang lahat, di ko siya makita. Di kasi angat ang itsura niya that night. Sana nilugay with big soft curls ang hair niya kasi ang ganda ganda niya pag ganun ang ayos niya, tapos a little bit darker gown would be better, then slit sa gilid to show her long legs. Ganda sana ganun ang style.
I have nothing against the winner. In fact, she is lovely. However, there are things which I believe, the Miss World Organization should avoid to be considered 'Credible', Fair and Just in choosing their winners. After all, MW is dubbed as an Alpha pageant so credibility and quality should always be the goal to maintain its prestige and honor.
And All the girls and the people involved have really worked hard with their sweat and blood dripping, thinking that the judgment process will be fair.
*The Puerto Rican National Director who is also a former Miss World sat as a judge during the Finals and Puerto Rico sponsored the Miss World 2016 Fashion Show together with Indonesia. (In any pageant, it is considered unethical if a National Director sits as a judge. It is very distasteful). What would the other National Directors feel when they learnt that their fellow 'competitors' are included in judging process?
*Indonesia had hosted the Miss World pageant in 2013 and will be hosting again next year. China won the crown two times in their home country (2007 and 2012) and had hosted the pageant six times. Expect, that Indonesia will get the crown soon. But if she is DESERVING and worthy of the crown, we will be the first to REJOICE!
*The Indonesian National Director sat as a judge during the Miss World 2016 Top Model competition. Indonesia got second place and 1st place in Beauty with a Purpose Project.
*Last year, the same Indonesian National Director was included in the panel of judges. Indonesia won Third Place.
*The Philippines had been poised to host the pageant but due to some factors it did not materialize. Julia Morley must have been very disheartened upon learning that the country chose to host Miss Universe instead. So axing a very deserving winner is the sweetest revenge. Sorry Catriona, you have become the sacrificial lamb!
Lessons for the National Directors who aspire to win:
*Be a major sponsor or host the pageant so Julia Morley will give you the crown. Call me bittermelon, but I need to divulge these facts to spread awareness of the shameless politics in Miss World. These need to stop! Seriously.
MW management always has the final say coz they own the business, whoever they want to win will win. This is the reason i always doubt who goes to runner-ups and wins the crown, it's pageant politics.
Miss Puerto Rico looks like Miss World 2011 from Venezuela, Ivian Sarcos. But Miss Philippine Catriona should have won!!!! Imbyernadette Sembrano at nakaka-Stress Drilon!!!

Yes. Tama ka 1.53 dapat palagi may iooffer na bago hindi yun at yun lang. Medyo predictable na nga ang sagot niya na saulado niya na. Yun hairstyle niya din yun lagi na din since day1. Naging boring na. She was so confident to win na nawalan na ng mysteriousness ang persona niya. Laban na lang sa sunod.
You know guys why it sounded so rehearsed? Kasi yung tanong sa kanya, ni rephrase lang na "why should you be Miss World?" Na default question ng MWO pero I don't think it was a rehearsed answer.

Grabe ang politika ngayon sa MW (with Puerto Rico and Indonesian National Directors sitting as judge, what do you expect?). It's a matter of luck din, kahit angat na angat si Catriona sa Top 5 finalists at top pick din si Catriona ng halos lahat ng pageant sites to win the crown, she happens to compete at a wrong place (Phil. getting bad press in the US) and at a wrong time (PR and Indo National Directors sitting as judge). Sa lahat ng international beauty pageants, LUCK is always at play. Sana sumali siya sa Binibini so she could compete for Miss Universe.

ReplyDeleteSa lahat ng nagsasabi na LUTO yung pageant, di luto rin pala yung panalo ni Megan. Pareho pa rin owner and rganizers ever since, kaya di pwede na yung obang years lang luto yung iba hindi diba?
ReplyDeleteSo officially, Miss World 3rd Runner-up ang rank ni Catriona Gray. It was announced after the show to appease the screaming audience. Grabe ang politika ngayon sa MW (with Puerto Rico and Indonesian National Directors sitting as judge, what do you expect?). It's a matter of luck din, kahit angat na angat si Catriona sa Top 5 finalists at top pick din si Catriona ng halos lahat ng pageant sites to win the crown, she happens to compete at a wrong place (Phil. getting bad press in the US) and at a wrong time (PR and Indo National Directors sitting as judge). Sa lahat ng international beauty pageants, LUCK is always at play. Sana sumali siya sa Binibini so she could compete for Miss Universe.
