Lizquen fan here.. although I was happy and okay with the finale, I still think it could have been better. It is given that otwol has a great ending owing to it being new (live, includes fans.. etc etc) but DA has a great story and deserves a great end.. it feels like they rushed everything. Lizard and Enrique deserves a well thought finale not just an end to a story.

Jadine still needs to prove their bankability, but i'm with Osang on this - OTWOL raised the bar of primetime shows. Superbly done ang OTWOL, de calibre ang mga writers- walang out of this world incidents and circumstances.
Bankable how? Their ratings for OTWOL were lower than DA and PSY! Even their finale didn't make it pass the 20 rating mark. Their movies were not mega blockbusters. So remind me why they're bankable. OTWOL did better than expected specially they just transferred from the other side, but to say that it rated well is just preposterous. Ratings don't lie, dear. Their ratings stayed in the high teens to 20s for the whole series. DA stayed at least on the mid 30s for most of their run. And individually, LQ has brought in more money and are endorsers for more companies than Jadine.

FYI, Otwol is the first teleserye of James and Nadine. Rating wise, it was way higher more than what was expected. The story was simple and relatable. Reason why a lot of people got hooked to it.

DA's ending could've been a lot better.. It doesn't necessarily have to be a wedding. Casting Ian as the wedding priest was totally off, could've gotten someone less known. They obviously opted for a wedding to end the series for the sake of the fans.

I think Osang's criticism is objective. She obviously watches most of the Abs-Cbn shows and she's an avid viewer of DA too. I'll take her statement as true because she is not simply fueled by the "kilig" feeling of being a Lizquen fan. The way she said is downright direct and on point. There's nothing special about the story, though the supporting casts are superb and I should give it to Lizquen for being an eyecandy on tv.
Yap, OTWOL was phenomenal magaling talaga si Direk Tonet, very realistic yung scenes and relatable unlike the mala fantasy stories ng star creatives, di nangailangan ang otwol ng cliches like amnesia, ampon, rich marrying poor. Realist si Tonet and sakto ang teamreal sa kanyang obra cos JaDines is never nagpabebe and the sexual chemistry is LIT.

DA really had beautiful and promising pilot episodes...and then, ewan tinamad na ata ang mga writers. naging lame at lousy na ng story. the finale was too cliche and yes boring. Sinayang nila ang yung galing ng LQ. Buti na lang talaga, sobrang dyosa sa ganda ni Liza on her wedding dress. <3

Tapos wala palang script ang LizQuen dub sa final scene ng Forevermore kaya ad-lib ang dalawa. Kaya baka di na bumalik si Direk Cathy sa Dolce Amore kasi na-iistress lang siya sa mga writers.

Constructive criticism is one thing, but comparison it to another show is another thing. It's not a contest specially they belong under one network. Two different stories with different caliber of acting. I don't compare LQ to Echotin shows from before specially there are similarities. Some things are just irrelevant. She just doesn't know how to make a criticism without pulling somebody down.

Why are LQ and JD being bashed? It's not them but the scriptwriters who are to blame. Quen and Liza are good actors and Liza is a goddess - but that's not enough if you are given a crappy script.
Liza was a beautiful bride pero OTWOL wedding was a beautiful wedding,the emotion and vows were heartfelt. Both wedding night scenes wetr cute. I think another trend OTWOL has started for finale wedding is the cute wedding night though I don't know for sure if any other wedding finale had a wedding night sequel.

It is given that otwol has a great ending owing to it being new (live, includes fans.. etc etc) but DA has a great story and deserves a great end.. it feels like they rushed everything. Lizard and Enrique deserves a well thought finale not just an end to a story.

DeleteJadine still needs to prove their bankability, but i'm with Osang on this - OTWOL raised the bar of primetime shows. Superbly done ang OTWOL, de calibre ang mga writers- walang out of this world incidents and circumstances.
DeleteBankable how? Their ratings for OTWOL were lower than DA and PSY! Even their finale didn't make it pass the 20 rating mark. Their movies were not mega blockbusters. So remind me why they're bankable. OTWOL did better than expected specially they just transferred from the other side, but to say that it rated well is just preposterous. Ratings don't lie, dear. Their ratings stayed in the high teens to 20s for the whole series. DA stayed at least on the mid 30s for most of their run. And individually, LQ has brought in more money and are endorsers for more companies than Jadine.

DA's ending could've been a lot better.. It doesn't necessarily have to be a wedding. Casting Ian as the wedding priest was totally off, could've gotten someone less known. They obviously opted for a wedding to end the series for the sake of the fans.

ReplyDeleteI think Osang's criticism is objective. She obviously watches most of the Abs-Cbn shows and she's an avid viewer of DA too. I'll take her statement as true because she is not simply fueled by the "kilig" feeling of being a Lizquen fan. The way she said is downright direct and on point. There's nothing special about the story, though the supporting casts are superb and I should give it to Lizquen for being an eyecandy on tv.

Tapos wala palang script ang LizQuen dub sa final scene ng Forevermore kaya ad-lib ang dalawa. Kaya baka di na bumalik si Direk Cathy sa Dolce Amore kasi na-iistress lang siya sa mga writers.

Two different stories with different caliber of acting. I don't compare LQ to Echotin shows from before specially there are similarities. Some things are just irrelevant. DeleteAyy naku warningan na ang dreamscape na they better not end timy with another wedding scene. Nakakaumay na, porket kinagat ng tao sa otwol di ibig sabihin non kakagatin ulit nila ngayon. Hindi lahat ng tao fantasya ang magpakasal. Kaya magisip naman sila ng kakaibang ending, kahit hindi happily ever after masisikmura ko pa basta wag ng wedding scene.

ReplyDeleteWhy are LQ and JD being bashed? It's not them but the scriptwriters who are to blame. Quen and Liza are good actors and Liza is a goddess - but that's not enough if you are given a crappy script.
ReplyDeleteLiza was a beautiful bride pero OTWOL wedding was a beautiful wedding,the emotion and vows were heartfelt. Both wedding night scenes wetr cute. I think another trend OTWOL has started for finale wedding is the cute wedding night though I don't know for sure if any other wedding finale had a wedding night sequel.
