The Privilege of the Ex-Lovers

Over the years, Attractive Actor (AA) has skipped the tag of ‘playboy’ even though he has been linked with several actresses in the industry. His charm and innocent looks as well as his quiet demeanor have covered the fact that he has been involved in several relationships with some of them coming right after the other. Similarly, one or two could be considered whirlwind. Yet, no one would tag AA a playboy because the tag does not seem to fit him.

Nonetheless, AA seems to be unable to find strong relationships that could stand a lifetime. Although he has had a number of relationships that lasted for more than a year, most usually end. One of his more exciting relationships happened with Versatile Celebrity (VC). Given that both of them run in the same circles, understanding the pressure of each other’s careers was an added factor that made their relationship work.

Alas, one’s true nature prevailed. The restlessness of the couple ended up with rumors of their seeking company with other personalities. Observers blamed this situation to the couple being bored with each other. In terms of their age and stature, the main observation was their seeming lack of desire to get married. While their contemporaries have decided to take the plunge, AA and VC were never known to be vocal over the idea.

The inevitable happened and AA and VC called it quits. Despite events unraveling in the life of VC, no one dared to connect these moments to the aftermath of her relationship with AA. Meanwhile, AA was immediately rumored to be finding consolation with Another Woman (AW). However, AW had to move on given that she needed to focus more energy on her career. Love could wait, anyway.

Meanwhile, VC continued with her work and consistently gained appreciation from followers because of her superb performances in her projects. The same was happening with AA. Sadly, their achievements were no longer shared with each other. However, the aftermath of their breakup did not lead to scenes of heavy drama or exchange of tirades in social media. Their official statement was the tried and over-used line of ‘we’re still friends.’ They are indeed, according to the grapevine.

While friends make life tolerable, friends with benefits add color to life. Thus, discarding commitment and all expectations of a relationship, AA and VC had moved their connection to being friends with benefits. Thus, when the physical needs emerge, they know whom to call. Knowing each intimately for a while, a night of pleasure would not matter. Besides, VC has been known to be a frequent visitor at the place of AA. What else could they be doing, anyway?
