    1. What's a trying hard singer for you? Because a trying hard singer for me is someone singing shamelessly and loudly even though the voice sounds like a cat in heat.

    2. Yun ang need natin to try harder!

    1. Hahahaha! Daming ikot-ikot ng tawa ko! Sabihin mo yan kay Camerob Mackintosh. Theatre voices are ordinary? Nagpapatawa ka teh? Palibhasa puro teleserye themesongs pinapakinggan mo. Charot!

      Delete
    2. Gaano ba kaordinary?

      Delete
    3. At least she's a legit singer. Can't say more to those in Star Records, tard.

      Delete
    4. Yet she was chosen by experts among hundreds of really good singers. Ha.

    5. Dong, mahiya ka naman sa comment mo. Ni lang mo lang ang theatre? Haha.

      Delete
    6. Ordinary voice? are you talking about that singer who is known for singing baduy teleserye themesongs? Hahaha! Or maybe you are talking about that singer who always do ikot ikot while Lip syncing Hahaha! POOR YOU!

    7. Holy crap! Goosebumps. Brought me back to that moment few weeks ago when i've watched them both in London. Everyone clapped like crazy when Rachelle sang the I Dreamed a Dream!

Wag kang nega!

      Delete
    10. Ordinary? Kaya pala pinilit at hiningi Ng pabor ni Rob Houchen, West End's Les Mis' Marius, to sing with him in his debut EP, Man's Man's World. At sabi ni Emma Kingston, cover for the role Cossette, she can't get enough of Rachelle's rift in the song. Hmmm... Ordinary? Baka kailangan mo Ng diksiyonaryo, Ate! Hahaha

  3. Mas gumanda boses ni rachel ann

    1. Hahahaha! It's funny that your comments were all written within a 2-minute period (12:17 to 12:19).

    4. I know this is ad hominem but is your voice more memorable than hers? I doubt you can even sing.

      Delete
  5. Two rising voice powerhouses. They don't just sing beautifully, they sing with their hearts. Hoping to see them soon. Added bonus that these two lovely ladies playing Eponine and Fantine together are of Filipino lineage ☺

  6. Mas magaling pa din si Lea

    1. Lea's voice is unique. I don't think there are singers who succeeded to imitate her voice.

      Delete
    2. Heller! You can't compare Lea with RAG kc Di cla magka-level pero ok nman c rachelle kc she made a name for herself sa west side kahit papano.

      Delete
    3. guys, if your metric for sounding is good is Lea, then no singer out there will be great because only Lea has that voice. Let's measure Lea for singing like Eva or Rachelle then! Get the point?

If you will compare a banana tree and a dog based on their ability to bark, then the banana tree will surely be the most stupid dog ever for not knowing how to bark. Kaloka kayo sa comparisons nyo!

    4. For me parang pang pop music kasi yung boses ni Rachelle Ann Go, kaya parang tingin ko hindi bagay. At kasi nasanay ako sa boses ni Lea Salonga, Menchu Lauchengco, etc... 😟

  7. I wish she learns to control moving her hands too much a la Mariah Carey. It doesn't look right on stage to have too much hand movements like that. And also her facial expressions are awkward. Her character requires to evoke pain, suffering, disappointment and hopefulness all at the same time, not annoyance and apprehension, as what we can see there. The other singer performing On My Own has a better voice quality.

    1. Perhaps that's your interpretation of Fantine's character. Her portrayal will have to go through the director and I guess, the fact that she gets rave reviews on West End and in Manila, and Cameron Mackintosh extending her take on the role for another year shows how effective she is at tackling the role.

By the way, Rachelle's Fantine to me was most heartwrenching during her arrest and death. And how did I know that? It's because I've watched her both in Manila and in London. I recommend you watch her, too, and then come back here again and say all these criticisms. ;)

      Delete
    3. Ah ganon ba 1.23? Kapag wala sa loob ng theather RAG diminishes her performance (hand movements and awkward facial expressions)? Okay. That says a lot about her as an actor. Thanks for clearing that. Ikaw na a spokesperson ni RAG.

      Delete

That's the truth. Itanong mo pa kay Lea Salonga Kung gusto mo.

    7. Agree with 4:52. 12:45's opinion was stated well without sounding biased or like a know-it-all. 1:00's retort sounded so condescending.

    10. Dear 4:52 and 11:38: You are free to validate 12:45's opinion. I believe that 1:00's opinion is equally valid as well. And bakit all of a sudden naging masama na mag-suggest na manood muna ng buong play bago husgahan ang consistency ni RAG as an artist. FYI, lahat ng galaw nila dumadaan sa director and kina Claude Michel Schönberg. Antataray nyo online pero kapag napitik mga egos nyo, you cry foul? Sensitive, mga teh? Lakas nyo makacharot!

      Delete
    11. Uuuyyy, 12:33 is 1:00. HAHAHAHA!!! Not 12:45. Not 11:38. At lalong not 4:52 😜😆😄😄

      Delete
    12. 12:33, why do you assume that those people have not watched the musical, Les Miserables? Don't you think that maybe their opinions are based from having watched the whole musical multiple times in many other countries abroad? Or maybe (just maybe), they themselves are artists in musical theatre. Think about that.

    13. I'm a Lea fan since Love, Lea days and equally a fan of Rachelle since Search for a Star days. To compare them is a no-no as there's too many differences than similarities but they're both being recognized by THE Cameron Mackintosh. On the other HAND, let me leave you what THE Ms. Lea Salonga said about her just recently: "she is glowing even without singing and acting". Coming from the Tony Award winner herself, no further questions needed.

  9. the new queen of Broadway indeed.

    1. you mean Broadway songs? And exaggerated naman yung new Queen of Broadway tag mo! Dami pa nyang kakaining bigas no!

  10. RAG is overrated. Most of people I know who watched les mis here in MNL all noticed that her voice is not as powerful as the rest of the cast.

    3. You are not telling the truth. She won an award in London for her singing in Miss Saigon.

      Delete
    4. Have some sugar, you are too bitter.

      Delete
    5. Lol. Most of the reviews said hers is the most powerful among the cast. Fans nino yung mga kakilala mo?

      Delete
    6. Hmmm. I watched Les Mis sa Solaire and she sounds great. Mackintosh speaks highly of Rachelle Ann.

      Delete
    7. Should there be no different attacks in playing any roles? The problem is you constantly stereotype roles portrayed by other actors but never perceive the nuances in other actors' portrayal. Must someone scream still at the top of her lungs while dying just in Fantine's case? Rachelle was so effective in her dying scene compared to others who were dying loudly. Rachelle's Fantine was subtle and was a blueprint of Anne Hathaway's.

  11. Parehong magaling but eva is effortless.

  12. ITO LANG MASASABI KO,ANG DAMING BITTER..mga fan siguro ni sarah jona at ange, mga napag iwanang singer sa pinas...kahit gaano ka nega comment nyo kay rachelle she will always shine in her own,ang mga idol nyo subsob sa pinas ang raket, nagpupumilit mag international...

    ReplyDelete
Bakit kaya sila naandito?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Eva's voice will improve over time. She is just learning to sing. Rachelle's singing is beautiful. By the way, what they're doing is not easy. Open spaces like those are hard to sing in because the artists cannot hear themselves anymore.

      Delete
  14. Hindi pang Broadway c Eva. When you're in theater Kasi, ur like talking buy with a melody. Yung Kay Eva, kinanta nya Lang with rifts pa.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Go Rachelle Ann soar high!...basta magaling ka!

  18. Rachelle has a very beautiful voice like no other I have ever heard. I saw her twice in Miss Saigon and twice in Les Miaerables. She is magnificent in both roles although I love her more as Fantine. Eva is also great in this endeavour. Somebody directed me to this website and I am really sad that there is a strong crab mentality among the different fan camps. Why put down a great wonderful singer when you can celebrate her success? Does putting down another artist elevate your favourite singer? Until this crab mentality is stopped in your society, you will not get anywhere in life. And that's the sad state of your affairs. Until you come together as one, you will never learn to correct this sad malady in your culture.

  19. She's just plain jane! Walang dating at charisma unlike Lea, Regine or Sarah!

    1. beauty is in the eye of the beholder...i find her more attractive and appealing than lea, reg, or sar..and i've seen them all in person...rachelle is prettier in person..di lang kasi siya telegenic...and her body is well proportion plus flawless skin at di pa siya nag pa nosejob nung nakita ko siya..di siya magiging miss san beda pag di siya maganda...plus ganda ng poise niya and the way she carries herself onstage..charisma again is subjective i find rachelle more enticing specially when she smiles...beautiful set of teeth and her smile radiates from within..and when it comes to voice quality i'd prefer hers' because its more versatile and more stable and consistent..the only advantage of sar that i like is her height..with lea her experience and work attitude she's a perfectionist..reg is her melodious voice and her relax and motherly attitude towards the younger generations..they all have their own endearing qualities to their fans..but i wont call them plain or di magaling dahil di sila tatagal diyan kung hinde..give credit to where credit is due...this is her video its for her fans to appreciate not for the crabtard fans..if you dont like her just dont watch plain and simple di pa kayo magkakasala sa kakapintas baka makarma mga idol niyo bumalik lahat ng binabato niyo kay rachelle sa idols niyo

Clearly, you haven't seen the world. Puro lang internet. Haay.

  22. I hope Rachelle Ann takes acting classes - maybe go to New York. Sobrang ganda ng boses, pang musicals talaga. There are plenty of opportunities sa theater for her.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Thanks for mentioning Hamilton, not to mention Eliza. Rachelle just gives all glory back to God that's why she's blessed. Thanks for your nice comment, though. God bless!
