Sarah Geronimo is no longer coming back as a coach in the third season of “The Voice Kids.”
She revealed this on Monday during her contract signing with ABS-CBN, where she inked another two-year deal.
“Sasabihin ko lang na gusto ko lang pong bumalik sa ‘ASAP,’ talagang 'yung mag-concentrate naman sa growth ko bilang artist. Kasi I feel na bilang coach, parang lagi ko nga pong sinasabi na role-playing talaga 'yung pagiging coach. 'Yung para bang alam ko lahat, kapag nagbibigay ako ng opinion, para bang ang galing-galing ko. Medyo naghe-hesitate pa rin po ako doon,” she said.
Geronimo, however, hinted that she may possibly come back in the TV competition’s future seasons.
“Sobrang masaya naman talaga and fun 'yung experience, especially doing it with the kids. 'Yun talaga ang the best. Baka po next season, why not, kung gusto pa rin nila ako maging coach?” she said.
When asked what she wants to tell the young aspiring singers who dream of having her as a coach, Geronimo said: “Ang mga bata naman basta para sa pangarap nila, sasasabak sila. I’m 100% sure na magugustuhan po ng mga tao kung sino man po ang uupo sa red chair.”
Refusing to reveal who will be replacing her, Geronimo assured those who will audition that they will have fun and learn a lot from the new mentor.
Meanwhile, Geronimo thanked VIVA Artists Agency and ABS-CBN for understanding her decision regarding her career.
“Gusto ko magpasalamat sa ABS na talagang nandoon pa rin 'yung relationship, na gusto po nila akong manatili sa kumpanya po nila. And of course, sa manager ko na napaka-understanding at supportive sa mga naging decision ko sa career ko,” she said.
As to what her fans could expect in the coming months, Geronimo said: “Definitely po hindi ako magteteleserye kasi sobra po akong napapagod, 'yung boses ko. Hopefully po makakakuha ako ng pelikula na talagang mai-in love ako, mai-inspire akong gawin, hindi 'yung parang, ‘Sige, gawin natin para lang may pelikula ka.’”
Is the Darna role included in the projects she signed up for?
“Hindi eh. Hindi talaga po ako para doon. Pang-performance lang 'yung [nag-costume ako ng Wonder Woman sa ASAP],” she said.
Ibalik nila yung dating ASAP! Tanggalin yung Karaoke! hayaan na sa Kamuning yun!! Ang bakya e!

DeleteI respect her decision. Marami syang exposure sa The Voice pero not as a performer but as a judge lang. Sa ASAP, napapakita nya singing and acting talent nya, and I look forward to seeing her performances every week. Wish ko lang for her, magandang album na sobrang mag-hit yung mga songs nya para mga original songs nya lang kantahin nya everytime.

ReplyDeleteNow, ABS, look no further, there are only two people who could fill Sarah's seat: it's either Carla Estrada or Angel Locsin. Both have the credibility in judging and mentoring, and currently they are doing a great job judging in their respective talent shows (Carla in Tawag ng Tanghalan, Angel in PGT). Both eloquent, transparent, fair and knowledgeable in judging. You could really feel that they are carefully chosen by the network, and not forced to us.

DeleteAwww. Sarah really is so humble kaya love ko talaga sya. I love her as a coach sa the voice kaya naamaze ako sa humility nya na naiisip nyang she doesn't deserve the role. I guess to some degree, her feelings are valid nga, but I will miss her sa the voice! Iba ang chemistry ng 4 coaches. Aminin nyo, di achieve ng other shows sa other networks anf chemistry ng the voice coaches. Plus i always look fwd sa battle rounds ng team sarah. This is so sad pero go, sarah!

DeleteIt's a "contract" kaya may right ang artist to suggest some conditions. They arrived naman to a mutual agreement between her & the ABS management. Sarah is one of the important & well loved celebrity ng mga bosses sa ABS coz mabait & di demanding. She's so humble & di feeling pa star kahit sikat.

As much as I would like her to stay as a coach sa the voice, I think she still needs to learn how to convey in words yung pag-cocoach nya & she needs more skills motivating her manok.Tsaka I can feel she's not as confident na parang may hiya/doubt factor pa rin sya. I hope she'll be more mature & will come back coaching sa the voice.

DeletePero I will really miss Sarah on the show. Eventhough she may not have the vast experience of Lea, makikita mo pa rin ang sincerity ni Sarah. She definitely has a great potential to be a great coach, kaya lang she needs to believe in her capacity. I'm pretty sure those kids that she has mentored will become great in their chosen fields in the future. Dahil may Sarah na naniwala sa kakayahan nila. I have a feeling na Sarah tends to doubt herself dahil may someone (guess who???) in her life na dumi-dictate pa rin sa kung ano gusto nyang gawin sa buhay nya.

DeleteShe may not be eloquent in words to persuade the contestants to join her team- but they can feel Sarah's sincerity through her words & actions kaya marami ang pumipili sa kanya as their coach. Pero tingnan nyo naman kaninong nanggaling na team ang may maraming panalo at mga artists na may career after their appearance sa TheVoice show! Sabi nga- may career sa Team Sarah". Until now ay close pa din siya sa ilang artists niya & still supports them. The 3 may have more experience but she has more wins!

ReplyDeleteSiguro totoo yung controversy noon about sa manipulated results ng TVK season 2 kaya ayaw nya ng mag coach? Magaling sya to be a coach. Halos lahat ng team nya may career ngayon, except last season ng TVK. Kaya sabi nya pipiliin at susuriin nyang maigi ang projects nya. Obvious naman kasing hindi yung Amboy ang choice nya, dahil hirap na hirap syang piliin yun that time. Remember Francis? Lutang ang galing pero imposibleng hindi mapansin yun ni Sarah. As per what I've read somewhere, pinigilan sya ng management na piliin si Francis kasi nag champion na sya showtime - and sabi naman ng iba, lagi nalang sa Team Sarah nanggagaling ang winner.
ReplyDeleteI also believed that the last TVK results were manipulated but of course Sarah can't directly say that as a reason for her leaving the show. There were evidence that votes for Kyle and Zephanie were not counted while the other teams did not encounter any problem.
DeleteI read somewhere that Sharon Cuneta will replace Sarah. I love Sarah G as coach. I hope she comes back. Hindi lang kasi sya marunong mag-yabang kaya sya sinasabihan na hindi effective but still the kids pick her and want her as coach.
DeleteI heard the same thing. Last season's results were rigged. It was very obvious sa mga choices ni Sarah from the blind auditions that she knows who are great singers, at true that she finds it so hard to choose Kyle. Utos daw kasi yun ng management, and not because taga Cebu yung bata or whatsoever. Malaki ang potential ni Francis or the other girl if na manalo if yun ang pinili niya. But Team Bamboo needs to win dahil wala pa silang panalo. Bamboo will leave the show if di pa siya manalo, so at the end of the they, the show lost Coach Sarah instead.
