Just a Disappointing Outcome

Reality says that popularity does not last forever. Over time, the career of a celebrity will hit its peak, slide down, and settle at a certain point or plateau. Although fans can be loyal, fans are insufficient to sustain the popularity of a celebrity. The celebrity must continue to attract more fans if he/she wants to stay in the business and at the top. Other celebrities who have reached the peak of their career either fade away or reinvent their image to maintain popularity.

Thus, the management of a celebrity must be always be prepared in case interest starts to wane for their ward. For example, when Talented Celebrity (TC) had a project somewhere far from the city, the producers expected that the name of TC alone could translate to ticket sales. Unfortunately, the producers were disappointed as the ticket sales were not near expectations even though TC is expected to fill up the venue. Thus, they requested for some assistance from the network for plugging the show.

The producers were worried as the overhead costs were increasing. The entourage of TC was quite huge and feeding them dented the pockets of the producers. Alas, no amount of plugging resulted in increasing the ticket sales. The concert of TC was on the verge of being declared a flop.

At this point, the network was worried because the trend is that TC is no longer able to fill up the usual venues for out of town gigs alone. Thus, the coverage of his events has been limited as shots of half-full venues might catch the attention of the viewers. Nonetheless, TC could not really do much but perform as a professional. After all, he is the talent and as long as he is not among the producers, he might not have as much interest in increasing ticket sales.

For most observers, the waning popularity of TC in such events is disappointing. Some say that perhaps, TC really needs to have His Partner (HP) present. Their loveteam is still making many fans scream and protective, which could be a gauge that their partnership is strong. Still, others believe that Rival Actor (RA) has overtaken TC in the concert scenes, which is something that TC’s fans will not easily accept. Perhaps, the time is right for TC to find new ways to attract more people to his gigs and implement measures to assure that his box-office potential will remain consistent.
