Kaya MARAMING NALOLOKO NG MGA RELIHIYON na puro ke Satanas dahil walang gustong maglaan ng oras to read the Bible the ONLY TRUTH abt everything from history to prophecy!

    2. Anon 2:38AM, when someone who is not popular or who is no longer popular expresses his or her opinion, why label it as pa-relevant? Bakit? Only popular or "relevant" people are entitled to expression? Broaden your mind. Your comment betrays your shallowness. Signed, not Monique Wilson

    3. haha ang bagal mo naman magbasa 12:59

      Delete
    4. 12:59 3 oras talaga?

    5. grabe namang bagal mo magbasa! you can finish reading it in 10 minutes or less.

  5. i can relate to her and i couldn't finish her post coz it brings back memories of my dad.

but its true, joking about rape EMPOWERS the rapists (and would be rapists) and diminishes the right of the victim. mangilabot ang mga taong nagsasabing joke-joke lang daw.

    2. So true! I don't know if its really true that her daughter Sara e na rape. Sana totoo at wag nila gawin itong biro o ok lng ang rape joke mapagtanggol lng si mayor.

      Delete
    3. What empowers these rapists and would be rapists is knowing that they can do what they want.

      Delete
    4. @1:20, it empowers rapists too if women who claim to be raped are doubted.

      Delete

    1. If you watch the whole video, Duterte said he ordered the rapist to be killed. And they got killed...

So ang point niya your beliefs/actions will affect whatever achievements you have accomplished in public service. Kaya nilitanya nya muna ang mga nagawa ni Mayor Duterte para sa mga kababaihan to lay down the similarity between her father and the mayor.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Wag niya igaya sa tatay niya wag niya igeneralize tsk tsk

      Delete
    2. She compared her father and Duterte dahil may SIMILARITY. Dutertard ka lang talaga... pareho kayo ng idol mo who refuse to change his ways at di marunong maging humble. He is running for the top position in the land. It requires a lot of sacrifice on his part, and that includes his behavior. If he refuses to change his ways, then anong klaseng presidente meron tayo?

  14. I salute you Monique Wilson for having the courage and confidence to speak about rape.

  15. malakas ang influence ni Mayor Duterte, a lot of people are looking up on him, sana lang gamitin nya yung impluwensya nya sa mabuting paraan. talamak ang rape sa pinas, sana naging maingat sya sa mga sinabi nya

    ReplyDelete
Imposible. If I know, hindi sya na-rape, parang iniencourage lang nya yung ibang babae na manahimik na lang pag na-rape sila.

  17. Very well said. Hope this gets to Mayor DU30.

  18. I just read the Lola Narcisa part. And it made me cry. Pinoys already forgot what women suffered during WWII.

Whenever i go to FB it's disturbing that WOMEN defend what this A@#^#*e said. Joke lang daw. Gutter Language. Okay lang daw kasi atleast Honest. The Hell. These women downplays rape. Rape is rape. It's a very very sensitive topic.

  19. Yes, it's a long read but it's worth the read. This rape culture is so ingrained in the Filipino society that it's almost normal to joke about violating a person through the use of sex. Whether you support Duterte or not, his joke should make Filipinos think about what they allow for people of power to get away with. As for Duterte's daughter: I wonder if she was really raped. Because rape victims don't dismiss what happened to them with a smile. If she was, I feel sorry for her. But to say that the joke should be fine because she was fine with it, is almost saying that her rape is the only one that counts and no one else's.

    3. You should start practicing yourself to read long articles. Long or short, parehong may laman. By reading, you'll know who and what to believe in and eventually will make you decide for yourself who's candidate to vote for... hindi yung aasa ka lang sa pananaw ng iba.

      Delete
    4. read it at wag puro artista laman ng utak mo. this could be an aha moment for you. it will not hurt you.

  21. Very well said..

Point is, rape jokes can never be justified. Rape, by allowing it to be a joke further perpetuates a rape culture that allows men a sense of entitlement to diminish women. How long can you endure before you say sobra na ang joke? When it becomes too much? When too much becomes the norm? When the norm become the culture? Digong, that was a bad joke. Mag sorry ka.

Makatotohan ang sinabi at may pinaghugutan. I was touched. Basahin ninyo in full para kahit Konti ay may mapulot kayo. Peace to all.

  27. monique, thank you for writing every single thing i wanted to tell mayor duterte after hearing him making fun of rape. truth is i was down to only 2 choices for president and mayor duterte was one of them. needless to say, he is out of the running for me. i can never vote for someone who belittles women, more so rape victims.

  28. Thank you for this, Monique. Gising Pilipinas. Isip isip!!

  29. I took the time to read it too and I commend Monique for writing something so eloquent, deep and truly heartfelt. Sana mabasa din ni Duterte though I doubt, it will make him change his perspective or realize the lack of it.

  33. His subsequent reactions whenever he's asked about the issue, his haughty non-apology "apologies", his comments to the outrage from the Australians etc. - the more I learn how Duterte reacts to intelligent, well-meaning criticism to this issue, the more frightened I am that a man like that remains survey frontrunner.
