The Fotona Nightlase is the revolutionary answer to freedom from snoring and hence better sleep. This non-invasive laser treatment reduces the effects of sleep apnea and volume of snoring.
Snoring can be caused by :
• Obstructed nasal airways: some people snore when they have allergies.
• Poor muscle tone of the throat and tongue : Throat and tongue muscles can be too relaxed, which allows them to collapse and fall back into the airway. This can also result from deep sleep, alcohol consumption, and use of some sleeping pills. Normal aging causes further relaxation of these muscles.
• Bulky throat tissue: Being overweight can cause this.
• Long soft palate and/or uvula : A long soft palate or a long uvula (the dangling tissue in back of the mouth) can narrow the opening from the nose to the throat. When these structures vibrate and bump against one each other the airway becomes obstructed, causing snoring.
“This is a condition that affects the quality of our sleep.” says Dr. Belo. “If the airways are blocked, the oxygen level in our blood goes down and this prompts the body to wake up. This interrupted sleep have adverse effects on health if not addressed properly. Snoring may seem trivial but there are studies have confirmed links to possible health problems like heart ailments.” adds Dr. Belo.
Nightlase proposes to improve and reduce occurrence of snoring, interrupted sleep and sleep apnea.
Snoring is extremely disruptive. Its effect on ones day time activity is huge. Because quality of sleep is low, energy level and concentration during the day is also compromised. Not only that, snoring is hazardous also to the health of your loved ones who sleep around you. They too suffer from deprived sleep and therefore, daytime performance is also affected.
