And use a foam roller before and after running. I am 35 yrs old and runs at least 8 miles every other day. running makes your bone stronger accdg to sports medicine If you are doing it properly.

It's the same thing happened to me. Last 2 years ago, I had a left knee operation. Now I could walk normally, but my left foot movement is limited. The only reason I did the operation, is to eradicate the possibility of not walking in 3-5 years. Too much exercise especially running caused me a torn meniscus.
