12:39am --- taga Call Center ka? No wonder. Taga call center din ako, kaya lang I'm not like you, sobrang perfectionist pero hanggang telepono lang confidence level
Many people say "ahmmm" when they are sorting out their thoughts. And since Maine experienced working in New York we can expect her to answer in English automatically. Why would we need to cringe at the way he answered? We are bilingual, some English-speaking people know only one language.
I was there during the presscon nya sa Dubai. And Amy (physiquetv host) did the interview after the photo-op. Not a fan of Alden but this interview is on the spot. Amy just throw questions and I'm a bit proud that Alden can converse and answer her questions. My dear it's normal for anyone to utter "Ahmmmm" during convos. It only shows that the person is thinking on how is he going to convey his message in a understandable manner! If I know pag ikaw yan NGANGA ka!
Para sakin ok nmn dahil hnd nmn sya foreigner and used na magsalita ng english. Bumilib nga ako sknya dahil magaling namn pala sya. Hahahah
Watch how Ben Affleck answered the questions during a premier of Batman vs Superman. He used a lot of "ahh's" & "you know's". Kano na yun ha. As long as you convey your thoughts, un ang mas mahalaga.
This is the first time for me to listen and watch Alden's interview in english. He's ok naman pala. Thought all along that he's only good in Tagalog. Love his hair too.
He speaks English well try watching his past interviews in Cosmo and other social events. And btw, he makes a lot of sense not unlike those artists you know who speak english but no substance!
TSE!
Funny yet true, some people always act like part of a panel of judges. Try focusing on the content, he answered correctly. And try watching how other nationalities answer in English, we do not judge them. Why are we so harsh on fellow Filipinos?
Sige given na magaling kayo, asan ba kayo ngayon? E siya, minamaliit nyo, nasan siya ngayon?! Tsk!
alden did well...there's nothing wrong with saying ahh coz he's trying to compose his thoughts. it was an on the spot interview so he had no inkling of the questions to be propounded by the interviewer. nevertheless, his answers were responsive to the questions and to think that alden had little sleep and tired. don't be overly critical with alden's manner of answering, i bet if you're in his shoes you'll be a disgrace...
Not all people speak profound and straight English! I live here in USA and you'll be shocked that Hispanics, African Americans and some White people themselves doesn't speak fluent, good grammar English! We Filipinos are so critical bordering to discrimination na instead of being proud that Alden was able to carry out and converse logically. Stop crab mentality
I also live here in the US, for more than a decade now. Americans are not particular with grammar, especially African Americans, unless writing a formal letter. What's shocking is, they're own language - they can't even spell! LOL.
3:21 exactly whats on my mind. I, too live in US, And I get by everyday with my "ahhhmmms" and "you know what I mean" lol but still they understand, english is our 2nd language, they know that, nobody's perfect.
Good job A!
I actually find him very well versed in English. Ang hirap kaya ng mga tanong but he was able to answer the questions on point and with depth. The more i admire you more alden. God bless u more.
Speaking good English here in UAE is not a big deal. We respect and understand that English is not the mother tongue of everyone here as this place is multi-cultural so we're not bothered with the accent as long as it is understandble.
Only Filipinos are not proud of their own language. In contrast, we Filipinos idolize those who are fluent speaking a foreign language. It just show how we belittle our own culture instead of being proud of it.
Look at Koreans. Because of K-Pop, pinoy fans now can understand basic korean. They are proud of their own language, the same with Arabic people here. Be proud of our own language and accent.
i agree with 3:21am - ive been working here in the US as IT consultant and even mga managerial levels di naiiwasan mga filler words even americans din. nadeliver naman ni alden saka nagmamakesense naman mga sagot - answers with substance. sana di tayo lagi mapanghusga.
Hello?! Ang galing kaya nya! Good job alden! So proud of you! May pacringe-cringe pa yung iba dito im sure kung kayo or yung mga idols nyo nainterview, ngek ngek ngek. Galing ni alden, nakakaproud. Uplift mo pa tayong mga filipinos bae! More blessings!
Agreed! He answered w/ substance, direct to d point, its very usual to stop in a while to compose ur thoughts, considering dat time he was so tired, lack of sleep from series of concert!Ive seen several past interview of Alden n he spoke English fluently(pep.ph, pulse.ph etc)Good job Very well done Alden so proud of U1
Watching the interview I was feeling a bit tight kasi baka magka mali but TBH he did well. He was able to converse properly in all fairness. Good job Alden
binasa ko talaga muna mga comments before watching this para i could watch it with a less biased mindset at mapinpoint ang mga criticisms dito. Natawa ako, given na yun, ang hirap kaya mag mindmap. You organize the "Tagalog" thoughts you come up with mentally then effortlessly convert into and say it in English without any fillers like aaah. And it's not something he has to do everday. A lot of aaahs I know but his answers are understable and clear. Kudos to him for not using filipinos' fave filler: actually. LOL
It is unfortunate that Alden is yet again being subject of unfair comments. If only these people would be fair they'll see that there is nothing wrong with his answers or his manner of answering the questions. Although he said ahmmm, before giving his answers, it was not a big deal. The interview was obviously on the spot so he had no knowledge of the questions to be raised, thus, the need to compose his thoughts. There is this notion that if you answer in a flawless manner you are bright, Wrong...the parameter should be on the substance and not on the delivery...you may be articulate and fluent but your answer is off tangent and without substance. In the case of Alden, his answers were responsive and informative, so why the attack on his ability to answer questions in english. Gosh, people grow up. At least Alden has an edge which a LOT of you guys lack, Goodness of heart translating to handsome face with substance.
Compare mo sa mga contemporaries nya, alden is not just another pretty face, he's a man of SUBSTANCE too! And as long na nasagot nya nga mahusay ang questions, walang masama sa pag Ahhh at uhmmm nya!
I thought he did a really good job kaya nawindang naman ako dun sa mga nega comments.
I actually find him very articulate in his interviews whether he's speaking in Filipino or English. You can see that he's a person of substance who can communicate very well.
He did well! Wag kayong OA. Not an Alden fanatic, but he is surprisingly articulate and may substance. And to think hindi naman sya inglisero na artista.
Nice!!!
ReplyDeleteHe's nice really. The questions are all about sports and physique.
As long na nadeliver nya ng mabuti ang sagot nya walang masama dun! At impromptu yan! Good job alden!
Delete12:39am --- taga Call Center ka? No wonder. Taga call center din ako, kaya lang I'm not like you, sobrang perfectionist pero hanggang telepono lang confidence level

DeleteHe did well, don't be too OA

DeleteHe speaks English well try watching his past interviews in Cosmo and other social events. And btw, he makes a lot of sense not unlike those artists you know who speak english but no substance!

ReplyDeleteBae, ibalik mo yung katawan mo nung ALDubEBforLOVE. And stop wearing hoodies/sweatshirts. 😏
ReplyDeleteSame sentiments here :)
DeletePayat niya nga in person!
Kaya Go lang alden!
ReplyDeleteGaling! Love you and Maine.
TSE!

ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I think Alden did well in the interview. He spoke in simple English and he made sense.
DeleteOk lang yan, love you pa din Alden...hihihi!
ReplyDeleteGood job, Bae! Impromptu pa yan!
