Marami ng winners na ang feeling mo e pinagbigyan na lang because of sentimental reasons - Paul Newman, Robert de Niro are some examples. Hindi ko sinasabing di sila magaling pero yung time na nanalo sila di sila deserving, like Leo now.

DeleteHe was also unforgettable sa The Departed, Blood Diamond, The Great Gatsby at J. Edgar ni Clint Eastwood, where he played pamintang FBI head na si J. Edgar Hoover at may kissing scene sila ng gwapong lover/assistant niya played by Armie Hammer. Actually at his young age (41) pwede na siyang ihanay kina Robert De Niro, Al Pacino at Dustin Hoffman for his remarkable body of work. This Oscar win has long been overdue and I know there are more to come!

ReplyDeleteI love all of leo's movies, pero revenant was the least yta that I liked..it was ridiculous. the bear attack alone should've killed him already. if leo didn't win the Oscar, I would've protested online, kasi lht na ginawa nya for the award.. inatake ng bear, gininaw ng todo, muntik mabaril, muntik malunod, nabutas ang lalamunan, pinatay anak anakan, nalaglag sa mtn, natulog sa loob ng tyan ng hayop, kumain ng kung ano ano...if we're basing the Oscar on acting alone, shutter island pa lng winner na sya or wolf of wall street, he was superb...I think this time he won because everyone just thought na he managed to do all umiaginable things in this movie for the sake of "art".. let's give him that...

If u read the interviews, making the movie was physically grueling for everybody accdg to Leo and the director. Napush sila to their limits, given ung location pa ng shoots. I personally think Leo deserves the award for this movie (not factoring his past movies ha). Sino ba bet mo? :)

DeleteI was so happy the Leonardo DiCaprio has finally won the Oscar Best Actor for The Revenant, a film I never really liked, same is true for his role. In my opinion, he should've won a long time ago, either for The Aviator (as Howard Hughes), Blood Diamond or The Wolf of Wall Street (as Jordan Belford). His performance in Shutter Island was also worthy of an Oscar nomination, but was overlooked. But still, I am so happy that he has finally won an Oscar.
