Manny Pacquiao looks like he has moved on from being axed by Nike.
An aide of the Filipino ring icon posted photos of Pacquiao wearing rival sneaker brand Under Armour on Sunday, days after Nike terminated its relationship with him.

Nike made its decision following controversial comments Pacquiao made about same-sex marriage, where he compared gay couples to animals. Pacquiao, a senatorial bet for the United Nationalist Alliance, apologized for the comment, but maintained that he remained against same-sex marriage.
That did not stop Nike from terminating the relationship, calling Pacquiao's comments "abhorrent."
Pacquiao, meanwhile, said he respected Nike's decision, while noting that their endorsement deal had expired and that Nike was only a clothing sponsor for him.

That's too much baggage right now. Also, he's in the end of his career. Why invest their money on boxing when MMA and UFC are more popular now. Asides Manny who's retiring and Mayweather who's already retired...nobody is really watching boxing anymore. He can have his opinion, but at the end of the day...business is business for these companies and they don't want to lose customers over someone's religious opinions.

ReplyDeleteOne thing I dont like about Manny's statement is he doesn't know what it's like to be like gay people. Babae ako pero may isa akong friend na halos araw araw nag wiwish at nag dadasal na maging straight siya. Kasi disappointed ang pamilya niya sa kanya lalo na ang tatay niya. Nagkagirlfriend siya ng isa pero hindi niya kayang mahalin, kaya nag out na lang siya kahit inaway siya ng tatay niya. Hindi haboll nila ay katawan ng kapwa nila, talaga yun ang napupusoan nila, just like straight people.

Ang hirap sa inyo join nalang sa hate bandwagon e, di muna pakinggan yung buong konteksto bago magbigay ng sariling opinyon.

ReplyDeleteUnder armour and adidas are both better than Nike. My adidas running and training shoes have lasted longer then my Nikes. Puro paporma and pasosyal lang ang Nike but quality-wise, waley.
