The Green Terno looks off, nakaka tanda. Parang the designer tried too hard to make it avant garde, pero major fail. It looks like left over green cloth was put together haphazardly. I feel so bad for Pia obviously she follows what she is told to wear.
And I thought I'm the only one who noticed! Hahaha! Sorry, but those ternos are not meant for a Miss Universe. Even Miss Gay Philippines candidates won't wear them.

The white and pink one is slightly better than the green one, but chaka pa rin. It looks mumurahin, nakakahiya sa Miss U org. I'm sure whatever the budget is for these gowns, they could've come up with a better looking one. Pede namang mura pero elegant pa rin, nsa stylist yan.

Actually. Ok lang naman iyong terno, almost all our pageant winners nagparada ng ganyan. I can't help but compare this to Megan Young and Lara Quigaman's gowns before. Iba ang level ng chakaness nito.
Dear Albert Andrada there is an unwritten rule of fashion...of all people you should have known better that dark colors should be worn in the night pastels would have been a better color choice. And the design of the dress looks funny and sloopy. Parang minadali ..you should have shared the prestige dressing Pia to other designer.
The materials look cheap. Our top local designers (Inno Sotto, Cary Santiago, etc. ) should have offered or loaned some of their finest creations for Pia to use since it will be a good PR mileage for them as well. Baka naman si Stella Araneta na naman ang pumili ng gown nya na mukang ginawa ni Baraza!
Yung gawa ng mga gown at dresses nya not flattering at all. To the designers kung yan na ang best nyo you better dig your heads in the ground nakakahiya designs nyo. A waste of materials & time. D ko alam san kumuha ng inspiration yung gumawa pink gown sarap gupitin ng nakalawlaw. Dapat tinago na lang sa baul. Opinyon ko lang po yun. Common designers, your better than that. Show your best. D porket miss universe ang nagsusuot ng creations nyo e maganda na gawa nyo. So disappointing.
To all the designers out there, when you make a terno, please, ang peg agad, Madam Imelda Marcos during her heydays. Classy and elegant.
Joe Salazar, Ramon Valera, Inno Sotto are the masters you should take inspiration from. Huwag maglaro. Remember Minorca Mercado when she won Best in Philippine Terno in the 1994 Miss U Prelims Night? That simple white terno with black embellishments was by Inno Sotto. Kinabog yung mga fancy ternos on display that time.

I'm not a fashion expert, but I agree with most people. Hindi nga maganda. Di naman dapat bongga, but make it pleasing to the eyes. Pictures palang disappointing na, what more pag sa personal mo nakita? Huhuhu....
Dear Mrs Araneta, you and your husband are worth $500mil according to Forbes. You could have at least spared some change to provide Pia a worthy gown of her status. Her pictures will be immortalized wearing these lack luster gowns. Sad

Tapos ang losyang feels pa nung dress niya meeting Erap. All in all parang DIVI ang feel ng wardrobe ni Pia. Buti na lang sobrang ganda niya.. Pero please lang. Ayoko nang kinakawawa yung queen natin. Paki-taas naman ng level ng wardrobe. Kung si Pia yung baduy, e di paki-asistahin na lang. But that sundae-like terno reeks of Madame Araneta. I'm reminded of MJ's cupcake gown.

Not even a touch of classiness. Very poorly designed. But modesty aside, more likely it appeals to the status of the Philippines as a third world country. No spirit of grandeur but lowliness which mirrors the large population of the masses that is poor.
Korak yan din naisip ko - pang 3rd world country yung gown. Mas maganda pa yung mga terno na suot ni Kris Aquino and all those women who parade their wealth during the SONA.
I agree. Actually, kahit yung gown ni Pua sa Miss U, di ko bet yung blue. I prefer the red Tolentino gown she wore during the preliminary. With the red gown, Pia looked like the queen and the best of them all. With the blue giwn, Pua looked short whereas sa red Tolentino gown, Pia looked tall. With the red gown, puede niyang magmukhang utusan sina Colombia and the rest of the top 10. With the blue gown, I did not like it...at all.

If you look at Pia's before/after winning the crown photos, you can really tell the difference na may budget ang outfits after winning the crown. Sorry pero mukhang mga mumu yung mga outfit nya during the pegeant. It was only after she won that you can tell na "MUO na ang may sagot ng outfit nya kasi classy na". Bat naman ganon, Bb Pilipinas? walang budget?
Lol. I stalked Jonas Gaffud's insta. Daming comments re: the homecoming outfits and asking him to level up the fashion sense (is it in his hands though?). I hate it talaga that Miss Colombia is wearing chic stuff in her insta pics while Pia sank to cheapipay levels. I hate to compare them pero nandiyan na tayo e. They will always be compared with each other. Pia's photos are forever. Someone should fix this! 3rd world country man tayo, pero excuse me hindi dapat kabaduyan ang ipakita sa mundo. Our top local designers (Inno Sotto, Cary Santiago, etc. ) should have offered or loaned some of their finest creations for Pia to use since it will be a good PR mileage for them as well. Baka naman si Stella Araneta na naman ang pumili ng gown nya na mukang ginawa ni Baraza!
ReplyDeleteYung gawa ng mga gown at dresses nya not flattering at all. To the designers kung yan na ang best nyo you better dig your heads in the ground nakakahiya designs nyo. A waste of materials & time. D ko alam san kumuha ng inspiration yung gumawa pink gown sarap gupitin ng nakalawlaw. Dapat tinago na lang sa baul. Opinyon ko lang po yun. Common designers, your better than that. Show your best. D porket miss universe ang nagsusuot ng creations nyo e maganda na gawa nyo. So disappointing.

Joe Salazar, Ramon Valera, Inno Sotto are the masters you should take inspiration from. Huwag maglaro. Remember Minorca Mercado when she won Best in Philippine Terno in the 1994 Miss U Prelims Night? That simple white terno with black embellishments was by Inno Sotto. Kinabog yung mga fancy ternos on display that time.

I'm not a fashion expert, but I agree with most people. Hindi nga maganda. Di naman dapat bongga, but make it pleasing to the eyes. Pictures palang disappointing na, what more pag sa personal mo nakita? Huhuhu....

Tapos ang losyang feels pa nung dress niya meeting Erap. All in all parang DIVI ang feel ng wardrobe ni Pia. Buti na lang sobrang ganda niya.. Pero please lang. Ayoko nang kinakawawa yung queen natin. Paki-taas naman ng level ng wardrobe. Kung si Pia yung baduy, e di paki-asistahin na lang. But that sundae-like terno reeks of Madame Araneta. I'm reminded of MJ's cupcake gown.

Yung una parang Rayearth-Ghostbusters Variety Show, then yung green parang Maria la del Barrio-Samurai Combo. Baka pagkahubad nyan e magsisayawan magisa ang mga gowns - afraid! Sorry, harsh, pero kung masama ang lasa - di kelangan lunukin!

I think she'd look stunning in weaved material. A Filipiniana has always been an awkward costume.

ReplyDeleteNot even a touch of classiness. Very poorly designed. But modesty aside, more likely it appeals to the status of the Philippines as a third world country. No spirit of grandeur but lowliness which mirrors the large population of the masses that is poor.

ReplyDeleteI agree. Actually, kahit yung gown ni Pua sa Miss U, di ko bet yung blue. I prefer the red Tolentino gown she wore during the preliminary. With the red gown, Pia looked like the queen and the best of them all. With the blue giwn, Pua looked short whereas sa red Tolentino gown, Pia looked tall. With the red gown, puede niyang magmukhang utusan sina Colombia and the rest of the top 10. With the blue gown, I did not like it...at all.

If you look at Pia's before/after winning the crown photos, you can really tell the difference na may budget ang outfits after winning the crown. Sorry pero mukhang mga mumu yung mga outfit nya during the pegeant. It was only after she won that you can tell na "MUO na ang may sagot ng outfit nya kasi classy na". Bat naman ganon, Bb Pilipinas? walang budget?

Lol. I stalked Jonas Gaffud's insta. Daming comments re: the homecoming outfits and asking him to level up the fashion sense (is it in his hands though?). I hate it talaga that Miss Colombia is wearing chic stuff in her insta pics while Pia sank to cheapipay levels. I hate to compare them pero nandiyan na tayo e. They will always be compared with each other. Pia's photos are forever. Someone should fix this! 3rd world country man tayo, pero excuse me hindi dapat kabaduyan ang ipakita sa mundo. Tama ang isang commenter dito. Women who attended SONA had better ternos, so why can't Pia?
