Minimizing the Risks by Adding a New Couple

Capitalizing on the seeming popularity of a showbiz couple, the network decided to give the couple a series. Naturally, the series seemed to generate excitement for the couple. The problem is that the time between the moment the two were observed to be sweet with each other and that of the showing of their series is too long. Thus, their popularity is not as hot as when their relationship was revealed.

The relationship of this couple did not begin on a positive note, as one of them was already deeply committed to someone. In fact, the woman (TW) did her best to protect the identity of her partner (HP) prior to her Current Man (CM). While she professed loyalty and love to HP in an interview, TW shocked the public by being linked to CM a few weeks after the said interview aired. Some say the daily teasing to CM might have influenced TW to have a change of heart, and given that CM is physically irresistible, she gave in.

As time passed, HP was erased from the picture and TW and CM publicly declared they were a couple. They were seen together in several appearances, shows, and social media photos. Love was indeed in the air.

A reality check has indicated the possible risk of the project. The ratings might be compromised, as TW and CM have never really proven themselves to be box-office draws. Although TW has been praised in her starring role in a movie, accolades do not translated to TV ratings. Thus, the network had to make sure the series of TW and CM will generate viewership.

One of the measures that was thought of by the thinktanks was to include a hot couple into the series. This second couple (SC) has similarities with TW and CM. When the audience and the network noticed the chemistry in SC, they were built up in various channels. The Male Partner (MP) is good-looking and exudes similar appeal as CM. Meanwhile, the Female Half (FH) has proven her popularity and has amassed her followers. To gauge their popularity, SC has been trending in various social media even if they have yet to have a show of their own.

Time can only tell if the alleged decision to include SC in the project of TW and CM is wise. Nonetheless, fans will welcome seeing SC act on the big screen.
