  2. At the end of the day, bato lang yan. Batong mahirap makuha, pero bato pa rin just the same.

And as a government official its unethical to accept expensive gifts from anyone.

  7. Marcos loyalists and History deniers will hate this little reminder of the EVIL that befell our nation during the Martial Law ERA.

    1. It would do them well if these pro Marcos newbies would watch the documentary 'imelda'.

Cheeky bastards. Timing nga naman. Auctioning the diamond will remind filipinos of the marcos era.

Puro simula ung infra projects tpos the existing infra d namaintain. Kwawa naman tayong mga Pilipino. Helpless.

  20. When the Marcoses were flown to Hawaii at the height of the people power they have boxes of valuables with them. I read that one American soldier commented that if you connect all the strands of pearls that were in the boxes it will cover the floor of the room where the boxes were stored. Of course that was exagerated but what the soldier wanted to tell was how much jewelries the Marcoses were able to squirrel away.

  21. WOW! Beautiful jewelry pieces I must say. It is nice to see the latest summer jewelry collection. The earrings, the bracelets and the ring all are just wonderful. I personally like that perfect platinum diamond ring displayed above.

Kaloka. Many of those jewelries and art pieces were actually given by world leaders at the time to President Marcos and Imelda. Their popularity was no joke at the time, that even representatives from different countries would go after President Marcos and Imelda, just so they could have Ferdinand & Imelda visit their countries to give global exposure to their respective countries. Therefore, jewelries and art pieces were usually given to President Marcos and most especially to Imelda Marcos as a token of gratitude. No matter people say, but there's really no other leader from our country that was able to promote globalization and modernization of The Philippines the way Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos did back then.

In that way, magkaka.income pa from local & foreign tourists. Imelda's jewelry collection are talagang royally, rare pieces, and it would be a great treat for us regular people to get a glimpse of those jewelries in flesh if they put it in a museum.

    1. Placing the jewelries on display would require insurance which costs twice as much as the actual valuation of the jewelries. Also, while the collection is impressive it is still not as big of a deal as say the royal jewels of Britain, jewelries of Madame Hélène Rochas, ELizabeth Taylor, The Duchess of Windsor, etc. to really garner any international attention of huge scales.
