    21. This guesting does not make her any better than the rest of us, so she should get off her high horse.

      Delete
    22. 2:50, Alladin, (not excluding the other Broadway shows that Lea Salonga became recognized worldwide for her talents) is what has open doors to Filipino talents in Broadway, Hollywood, WEst End UK. You may not find this significant , but world recognition of Filipino talents, among other things, leads to credibility, recognition, etc., also gives national relevance and respect to the country and it's people. Ignorance and thoughtless commentaries against internationally recognized talents like Lea Salonga by her countrymen (who gave this country pride and respect for Philippine talents affording them a place in International theaters, movies). And BTW, Good Morning Aerica is oe of the most respected morning shows watched all ove the world by people who follows credible shows.

      Delete
    10. 12:51AM She's someone known not just locally but internationally as well. It seems that you've never been outside the philippines kaya you have no idea how relevant she is. Nood din minsan ng international news para may alam din.

    12. Former fan here. And I must tell you, I don't think she is really proud of being a Filipino for being an international star. She is just proud of herself.

      Delete
    13. @1:10 So true. Very talented ang Lola Leah.

      Delete
    14. I don't think so Anon:11:24 am. Most of her interviews here in the US, she always mentioned Manila or Philippines as her home. "And I must tell you" she performed at least one Filipino song in her concerts here.

      Delete
    15. Yan tayo eh just because shes so opinionated we tend to say na mayabang maere sya i also find some of her interviews na mayabang sya let us think bakit? And i think its because she stayed abroad for a long time. At shes very westernized about stating her opinion na d pa ganun ka tanggap sa society natin. Eloquent magsalita si lea mapa english or tagalog man.

      Delete
    16. 8:08 HAHAHAHAHAHA totoo ba yan?? nag british accent ang lola mo?? mahanap nga sa youtube hahaha nkklk

      Delete
    3. 1:07 They started performing though Nov will be the official opening. Longevity of Lea in showbiz, since she started very young and now mid 40s but still performing in stage, still singing. That's at least 30 years so she definitely passed the longevity litmus test.

      Delete
    8. @2:15. She is not mayabang. I think you just don't agree with her opinions and that's make her look mayabang in your eyes.

    9. okay lang yun, May K talaga sya!

    10. 12:37, I'm as opinionated as your regular talking head in those news channels, but I'm not as arrogant and condescending.

  17. The person who is more American than the Americans, more English than the English - Lea Salonga. Never been a fan and never will be, hahanga pa ko sa kanya kung sabihin niyang nabasa niya Les Mis

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. hmmm, she should've had. malamang may orientation sila at pinag-aralan niya mabuti story bago siya sumabak sa pagkanta. otherwise, di niya ma-execute ang tamang pagkanta. but I have to agree with you though na American lifestyle nga ang in-acquire niya kaya parang kilos banyaga siya kahit sa pinas.

      Delete
    2. Ano daw? She's the only Asian actress who played Fantine and Eponine sa Les Mis and also part of the 25th Anniversary ng Les Mis.

      Delete
    3. 1205. Nakalimutan mo si Joanna Ampil, who's less famous, but a far better actress than Leah.

      Delete
    4. I think she is the only Asian actress who played both the roles of Fantine and Eponine. Other Asian actresses played one role lang pero sya, dalawang characters na ang na play nya.

    5. True anon 2:12. Underrated si Joanna Ampil. She also did Jesus Christ Superstar.

  28. 8:08, Lea was very young when she got the part in Ms Saigon. Many young Filipinos who moved to UK, US, America, who immersed themselves in the culture they immigrate to acquire the accents of the said country, and Lea is no exception. Besides, if we would rather focus on petty trivial things rather than on the substantive contribution of Lea, who has opened doors for succeeding talents, isn't that ironic that we would rather focus on shortsighted personal feelings agains a person rather than focusing on the meaningful contribution of someone? It takes guts, hard work, much talents to achieve what Lea has accomplished, not only for herself, but which has brought recognition for the Philippines as well. Let's not diminished the significant contributions of gifted people like Lea who validates Filipino talents. Let's do away with crab mentality people

    ReplyDelete
  29. 3:45, there's nothing wrong with being outspoken if it could lead to national discussions to improving how things are done elevate cultural standards. There's always a room for improvement, and who should we listen to but those who have achieved much. Rather than pull each other down, let's be more "collaborative" instead of disparaging each other.

  30. She will never be irrelevant part na sya ng history natin na nagpakilala sa mundo ng galing ng mga Filipino like cecile licad lisa macuja and the likes..her being opinionated just shows na mas matagal syang na exposed abroad she mingled with different types of people kaya sa atin masyadong westernizedang dating nya..
