    1. If this message is directed towards gab, hindi naman offensive para kay gab eto eh. In fact, lea is just keeping it real that by showbiz' standards of today, the success of an artist is gauged more so by his commercial success rather than his genius or talent. In fact come to think of it, in some ways ay sumasang ayon pa nga etong post ni lea sa mga sinabi ni gab.

    2. Connections?! Eh Gab has one of the biggest connections kaya!

      Delete
    3. Hindi ito patama

      I don't think it's connected.
But to make it in show biz is really hard.
You gotta hustle, work hard, find your own auditions, and.then hope there's a match for your talent for a show out there. Whether onstage, for a movie, or tv.

It's a hard life. That's what she means, and it takes guts to fight your way in.

      Delete
    7. Yan masaklap dito sa atin e. Pag dance lang talent mo considered as nothing pa din

    8. Blame it at times to his dad, lets face it di ba pag nasa stage silang mag aama, Gary always take the advantage na sya ang mag shine sa stage, showing himself na kaya pa nyang makipag sabayan sa inyo...

  5. Buti nalang si Tita Lea talented, pretty at bright.

So its a never ending debate. Just do what you gotta do.

swerte ka na si Gabriel dahil may platform na siya agad to showcase his talent, may recall agad ang pangalan >>> pero after that, it is all up to him

kung gusto lang naman pala niya magsayaw at mag-inspire ng video, para saan yung rant nya? go and make videos then post mo sa youtube yung tutorials, magbigay ka ng libreng dance lessons sa mga mahihirap na lugar, join ka ng international dance contest para mainspire mo yung iba

    2. 2 25 hi Gab, aminin mo na gusto mo maging big time performer (money and fame).

    1. And what does the so called non-talent celebs have to still gain stardom? They have charisma. Im not saying its right pero thats reality. Tingnan nlng ntin yung ibang starlets dto sa pinas n mgaganda and di hamak n mas talented pero starlet levels p rin. Ganun tlga. Even in hollywood gnyan din nmn. Hndi lng s pinas gnyan kundi khit saan. Malaking factor tlga ang charisma.

  12. so very true. and there are some lucky ones who possess talent, looks, charm, and they thrive and stay in the business after the 10year trial period of how long they can sustain the position. so, whoever is still in the business after 10 years and still on top, then there's nothing else to prove anymore, they just go with the flow and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

  13. Etong si Lea, isa pang nega. At the end of the day, lahat tayo will need to find our own space under the sun. He can teach dance to streetchildren para mainspire niya.

    1. Huh! She was a famous theater actress, recording artist and a variety show host nung bata pa sya. Bata pa sya celebrity endorser na sya. AFAIK, sikat sya and well loved by her peers and masses kahit Inglisera sya. Lahat ng records nya platinum. All her concerts are well attended. Her movies with Viva were all successful kahit smorgasbord type o romantic drama. The Voice Kids is the most watched program this year. Anong hindi ina-appreciate dun?

  21. To kasing gab na to pabida eh. Ala! Kalevel ka lang ni jovit at pomoy. Talented pero alang x factor!

    ReplyDelete
  22. This is true. Not just for the Philippines but for other countries as well. It should be the whole package. In fact, hindi nga lang solely sa mismong artist or celebrity naka depend ang success nila kase you have to factor in the forces behind them, which includes the machinery and the whole team who creates their image and how they are packaged to the public. This is the reason why most musicians, when they're starting out (especially those packaged as part of boy/girl groups) come out with generic pop music. It may not exactly be in line with their creative inclinations but they do it because it's what sells and that's what the management wants them to do. Since pop music are more commercially viable and has amazing recall as opposed to other genres. Then after some time, they'll want to go solo and be "themselves" so they can express their creative freedom and so what happens? They are able to do their art but then most often than not, they'll also lose commercial appeal and their stars will start to dim already. Hence the terms, "struggling artists" vs "sell outs". Fact of life. The struggle is real. Choice nalang ng mismong tao yan. Very rare are the ones who are able to enjoy both being an artist and a celebrity at the same time. Pero possible naman.

  23. If you have talent, guts, xfactor then you will make it. Stardom is not something you get bcoz ur a child of sikat. Make your own mark.

    1. It takes Gutz to be a Guiterrez. Wala namang talent mga yun pero sosyalin

      Delete

      Delete
    3. Kaya nga sabi ni Lea it takes more than talent to make it big sa showbiz. Yan ang siasabi ni Lea na na it takes more than talent to make it big sa industriya nila.

  29. of course lea can relate. she's got so much talent and recognition abroad. that time hindi rin siya masyado appreciated, although medyo high and mighty kasi dating nya, kaya nag abroad siya and nagtagumpay doon. pero in the end, uwi din ng pinas at nakisama pa sa sistema. i remember ayaw nya noon mag guest sa asap kasi para daw palengke. pero asan siya ngayon? working with people na hindi niya pinapansin dati at nakikibagay sa sistema na ayaw niya. e kasi dito siya kikita e.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies

  34. excuse me lea, talent is what got you to where you are now. You're very talented in singing. That's all. You're a boring host. Okay face. When you act in theater okay lang din. Ang galing mo lang talaga kumanta. Sobra. So wag kang nega and feeling all high and mighty! I hope you get off your high horse. Iba ang nagpapakatotoo sa masyadong opinionated.

Like what you wrote, opinions lang ni Lea yun.

Lea garnered the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and the Theatre World Awards—the first performer to win so many international awards for a single role. yan ba ang okay lang na acting sayo? not to mention Olivier award in London plus she's back in Broadway til july next year. Well if that's your idea of okay acting, then you must be a super duper uber star!

      Delete
  35. ang auditions sa miss Saigon limitado sa asians. kaya not every young singer was welcome to compete. lea's competition was only a subset of all those singers. that's what she means, di lang basta may talent. other things count as well, like opportunity.
